It probably would be good to see all the gerrymandered states together compared to the others.

National Root Beer Float Day – used to go to the Frostop in Homestead for these, sit in the antique cars and chat
National Wiggle Your Toes Day – I’m having a bit of trouble with my right big toe, as I dropped a heavy thing on it and it is swollen and stiff. Not broken thank you.

Haven’t had a root beer float in years. I do remember with fondness the A&W root beer in the frosty glass mugs. So good! Sorry to hear about your toe, and good morning, czarina!

I remember getting rooter floats at the A&W where I grew up. And, for some reason I can”t fathom now, it was a big deal to drive through the parking lot just to see who was there. But, that was back when the girls came out on skates to serve the cars. I am not sure, but I think it is still there.

Mornin’ mom! We still have an A&W near me, but no girls on skates, unfortunately.

Good day, Czarina! I’m with Stella on the A&W Root Beer real frosty mugs.
When I was a kid the owner of the double lot next to our house, which had beautiful shady walnut trees all over, sold it to the A&W company and in went a large walk-up building with a blacktopped parking lot. Gone was our privacy but also that of the patrons because my sister and I would look out the window to see which established or new couples had pulled in to get a couple of those frosty mugs.

Wait, Is That A Kaaba At Ground Zero?
Posted August 6, 2025
Did the jihadis get their victory monument after all?
Tablet magazine published a lengthy (over 8,000 words) and thought-provoking article Wednesday calling attention to a startling fact: “a modernist version of the Kaaba, the distinctive cubelike shrine at the heart of the Islamic faith,” now stands “adjacent to the footprint of the Twin Towers, which were destroyed by al-Qaida terrorists on 9/11.” This cube shape “not only reproduces the form of the Kaaba, but also slyly replicates several of the distinctive features of the chief shrine of Islam, including its fabric covering, known as the Kiswa. The building is also tilted at an angle to its surroundings, so that one corner points directly toward Mecca.”

Surprise for me today. Went out to water the plants on the patio (veg.). I was looking at the small cucumbers on my plants to see if any were ready, and found two HUGE ones and one regular one that I had previously missed (must be going blind). I thought the biggest one would probably be past its best, but I cut it open and scooped out the seeds, and it is very sweet – not bitter at all!

These are the ones I planted (in grow bags) this year. I have three plants.
The Wisconsin SMR58 Pickling Cucumber is a highly regarded heirloom variety developed at the University of Wisconsin in 1959, renowned as one of the best non-hybrid pickling cucumbers.
It is known for its high yields, disease resistance, and excellent performance in the garden.
This vigorous, vining plant produces small, dark green, blocky cucumbers with a uniform size and crisp texture, making them ideal for pickling.
The cucumbers are best harvested at 2 to 3 inches for gherkins or up to 4 inches for fresh eating.
The plants are resistant to cucumber mosaic virus, scab, and spot rot, and are considered a top producer with high resistance.

A huge story broke this week that the corporate media doesn’t want you to know about
This is a trend that, if not reversed soon, could result in the end of America as we know it, but it’s being covered up by the mainstream media and ignored by many conservative news outlets as well.
LEO HOHMANN – August 06, 2025
A California nurse has come forward with explosive whistleblower evidence that suggests an alarming cover-up of skyrocketing fetal deaths caused by Covid mRNA injections among pregnant women.
