Good mornin’, and happy Friday. A somber day and a rather tumultuous week. Let’s get everything taken care of and get the day rolling. Our old reliable will do just fine. Keep your head on a swivel and carpe’ your coffee!

What does “equity” really mean in education, and what are we doing about it? Not as much as you might think.

Mornin’ czarina! I loved my mother’s applesauce cake, which she sometimes topped with penuche frosting.

Applesauce cake sounds good. I would love to have some right now. Or, maybe a donut. I never was good a yo-yoing. Usually I just yo’d. It would go down and not come back up. I don’t know if it is still there, but there was a Drive In we used to go to in Lakeland, FL and it was there a few years ago.

Good day, Czarina! Never knew anyone who was proficient with a yo-yo.

It was 7th grade for me re eyeglasses which helped me to see movies clearly when viewing them from a car at a drive-in theater which was all the rage when I was young.

And, yes, surprisingly there are still quite a bit of drive-in movie theaters left. One of my best friends spent her final working years as assistant to a man whose family owned many drive-in movie theaters.

      Here’s a note from https://www.driveinmovie.com/search/Upcoming+Movies+In+Theaters+Near+Me/

“There are currently only about 330 drive-in theaters that remain in operation in the United States compared to a peak of about 4,000 in the late 1950’s. There are many reasons for the decline of the number of drive-in theaters. But one thing is certain – we must support remaining drive-ins to prevent their closure to maintain this truly unique experience that is an American as homemade apple pie. To that end, we hope you find our site useful and share it with your friends and family.”

If a drive-in is near you, take some applesauce donuts with you…

Just regular gardening is enough exercise. No special exercise is necessary, the same with a higher education degree, imo…

The following photo is one of the first I saved as a kid collecting World War 2 memorabilia…Ike and the troops….

        Another D-Day photo….

Brittanica.com shows a caption of “Dwight-D-Eisenhower-paratroopers-departure-Normandy-US-June-5-1944” but no notation of the other officers accompanying him. I don’t recall seeing this photo before.

I’ll be happy to have a donut while wearing my glasses that I started wearing at 9! Luckily, I never knocked myself out with my Yo-Yo! Good mornin’, czarina!

Mornin All. A tad bit warmer here this morning and the sun is trying to peak around the clouds. Hope you are not drowning while we could use the rain.
