Once you figure out how to pronounce some of the descriptive verbiage, you can drop the following information at your next coffee klatch….

Now Lucille, I might have to find one of those to buy, seriously. My coffee cup is a large, thick, ceramic cup with some manufacturer’s name on it. One of my sons had a ton of them, maybe fifteen years ago for his customers.
It keeps coffee warm, and I don’t care for metal cups. This would be ideal.

There was a bit of discussion last night about Carter’s funeral and choice of a song sung by Garth and Tricia. Here’s the skinny on protocol for a Presidential funeral. Only thing I can think of is that “he” changed his up after this was sung at Rosalyn’s funeral.

Bishop Robert Barron had an eloquent comment about it on X. I got into a discussion with a feel good fruitcake Jesus is so nice person.
His point is no minister or priest should sit through an ode to what he calls atheistic humanism. I agree. It causes the sin of scandal among the faithful. They had to have known ahead of time, and they could have declined to be in the service.
For many Christians, and yeah, I’m leaning heavily into my Catholicism here, but it’s not just us, a funeral is more than a cheering session for the dead.
Christ purchased our eternal souls at a heartbreaking and infinite cost that we could not pay, and death was defeated. There’s a reason why burying the dead is one of the Corporal Works of Mercy.

The choice for my memorial service is “How Great Thou Art”. I don’t know who chose Jimmy’s “hymn”, but it isn’t a Christian.

Mornin’ All. The sun is now up, so to speak, and I need to get moving. The dog is walked and breakfast has ben had and I need to go spend the next half hour trying to get out of the driveway. It may actually be worse today because it is all packed down and frozen. 🙄
It is supposed to start snowing about 2:00 this afternoon, so I have to get back and try to get more done at the old apt. before I have to leave to come back here before it snows. I never had to worry about this in Florida.
