Good mornin’, and happy hump day! Twelve days of destruction are all that remain until we get some relief from these wack-jobs. It’s only appropriate that we have winter storms on top of everything else. So……..we’re going to stock up on liquor, bread, milk and coffee. Lots of coffee! Hopefully, this beauty will be providing our nectar all day long. Keep your head on a swivel (and your hips today) and carpe’ your coffee.

    good mornin

Apparently, stupid lasts forever and can’t be fixed. Corona protocols still in place in many places around the country. Twelve days. Twelve long, nutty, stupid destructive days until most of this madness ends.

Things like this are why it’s hard to slay the Swamp and its creatures. If one entity gets funding cut off, they simply rebrand and get money out of some other pocket. Hopefully DOGE and company will cut all the heads off the hydra.

National Joygerm Day – reminds people across the country that by being positive and treating people with kindness, they can influence those around them and pass that positive attitude on to others. When we share good moods, we impact the lives of people around us, and those people become infected with that same positive joy and spread it to others.

National Bubblebath Day – be sure to warm up the bathroom beforehand

National Argyle Day – I do not own any

National English Toffee Day – candy is good…

National Career Coach Day – a little late for most of us on this blog

National Winter Skin Relief Day – yessss

English toffee! My own favorite candy, yum. Unfortunately, it’s also no sugar days in our house.

What a list today, Czarina! Always interesting.

Joygerms, and unfortunate term for a great ideal!

Ah, yes, a warm bathroom for a warm bath. Otherwise it’s a rude shock at the exit.

Argyle: Some color combinations are appealing. Others are not. The pattern is not the problem.

Toffee is tasty! English or other.

Career coach: More are going into a second career, a little help might be a good idea.

Winter skin relief. Greatly needed by those in the cold.

      Good afternoon, all.

Good day, Czarina! While partaking of a bowl of English toffee, I might wear an argyle sweater in a more subtle color…

…but none of those loud, nerve-jangling ones.

Afternoon all. It is cold outside. I started snowing sometime early this morning and I still snowing. So, no trips anywhere for me. I won’t drive until all the roads clear. I have lots to do here anyway.

Loki got all disturbed yesterday evening. She can’t see out any windows, but I bet she knew that there was a deer outside. She started running back and forth and then came to me with a look that seemed to say “Are you going to do something about it?” which I found so funny. I guess I will have to put a box or something at a window so she can look out.

Well, hope you all are stocked up for the next seasonal weather that comes along. Have a good day.

    Aus,

A good idea on elevating Loki’s view, if she’s not given to excess barking. Can provide lots of entertainment for a doggie. They’re on watch, you know.

What Started L.A.’s Firestorm? Hint: It’s Not ‘Climate Change.’

      VICTORIA TAFT | 10:39 AM ON JANUARY 08, 2025

Firefighters say that L.A.’s hellacious firestorm started at 10:30 Tuesday morning in Topanga Canyon. This paradise is — was? — filled with bespoke homes and came with built-in privacy — a rare commodity. People have been uprooted, their family memories are in ashes, and they have to find a place to sleep tonight. Evacuated entertainment stars such as James Woods, Ben Affleck, Eugene Levy, and more likely haven’t had a chance to ask this secondary question: What started this fire?

I was just reading comments at one of the channels which showed the interview with James. Most were positive but a few I had to use restraint and not tell the people to drop dead.

A fun little story about the only time I met James. It was probably 1974 and his agent and he had just come in our offices for an appointment with my boss.

The film THE WAY WE WERE, released in 1973, starred Barbra Streisand and Robert Redford with James in a supporting role playing the best friend of Streisand’s character. I’d already seen it several times (twice soon after it was released) and loved it. I told James how much I admired his work in the film. He looked at me with the sweetest smile and almost shyly said, “Oh, did you?” and thanked me. You could tell he was very pleased and we talked several minutes until he went into his interview. What a sweetheart he was.

Elizabeth Warren Finds One of Those Right-Wing Extremists the Biden Regime Has Been Warning Us About

    ROBERT SPENCER | 4:50 PM ON JANUARY 07, 2025

Our moral superiors have warned us about this again and again. … They have all agreed, and told us repeatedly, that “white supremacists” were the biggest terror threat America faces today. The only thing they lacked to complete their scenario were actual white supremacist terrorists. But now, Heap Big Squaw Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Cherokee Cheekbones) has found one: Pete Hegseth, Trump’s nominee for secretary of defense.

Another fact I heard from Laura Ingraham. The L.A. Fire Dept. shipped their ‘surplus’ equipment to Ukraine.

I noticed in one video showing the devastation along Pacific Coast Highway that fire trucks from National City (which is 15 minutes from Tijuana, Mexico!!!) are parked in PCH lots. Though I doubt that the Ukraine got any large fire trucks from the war-mongering L.A.F.D. hierarchy and DEI champions, sending anything having to do with fire prevention or fighting fire across L.A. is stupid beyond belief.

As Dylan sang about 60 years ago, the times, they are a-changing. The hollyweird fundraiser on Inauguration Day is quite bereft of star power. The biggest announced name so far – “Piper Perabo” of Coyote Ugly fame. Yep. That’s the top of the food chain at this soiree’.
