Good mornin’, and Happy Saturday! Another great day of winning and watching a whole bunch of people lose their pea-picking minds. It’s a glorious thing. Time to take things outside with this Cowboy coffee pot. I don’t know exactly how big this thing is, but it should have enough for a while today. Keep your head on a swivel and Carpe your coffee!

I had my yard mowed yesterday for what may be the last time, November 15. Wow. First time would have been no later than March, and maybe even late February. Even for the South, that’s a long season. But this morning I cut the heat on. It’s 44* outside. Fall temps are finally here.

Leaves are almost gone, and right outside my window as I drink my coffee the giant full moon is setting behind the mountain…and it’s gone. Hopefully in a bit the geese will fly into the pond. And did I tell y’all we had two young bucks in the field the other day? The bigger one was trying to get the smaller one to lock horns, but he was “Nope, not today. Not yet.”

All this while I sit in my chair with coffee. Life is good. I still miss living out in the woods, in the country, but life here on the edge of the city is good.

Morning Menagerie! I had my last lawn cut on October 28, then had the leaves removed on November 5. There are still a few leaves coming down, but not enough to worry about. It’s 49° here this morning. No freezing weather until next week maybe, so we are having a long fall season. By Thanksgiving we usually have a hard freeze, which reminds me that I had better put the hoses away!

I could run over mine one last time to neaten it up, and use my lawn sweeper to move the leaves from the grass, but there is no point in raking leaves when you live in the woods.

First freeze usually occurs the week before Thanksgiving, but none on the chart as yet for next week. I will have to get someone to move my tropicas into the garage when it comes.

ha, beat you all. we have had temps below 30* for weeks now. yay us! 🙄

I saw a deer, I guess a doe, but she was the biggest I have ever seen. she ran across my son’s driveway when I was leaving yesterday.

well, afternoon everyone. my heater seems to have died in my car. I can’t imagine how much that will cost to get fixed. but, fixed it must get.

oh, my DIL made turkey pumpkin white bean chili yesterday. it was delish. I wasn’t sure how to post the recipe.

        have a nice day.

Morning czarina! I have a large collection of buttons that my daughter and her cousin accumulated when they were quite young, so it is about 50 years old now. I have used them for various projects over the years.

I salute my Indiana neighbors! I wonder if there is a national Michigan day?

I was born and raised in the Hoosier state, but got to Texas as quickly as I could! Loved growing up with a cornfield literally in my backyard. I know all about that Children of the Corn thing!

Good evening to you, Czarina. All around her living room, my paternal grandmother had huge picture frames (like 3’x6′) full of buttons sewn in patterns. They ranged from military buttons of the Revolutionary War, thru the Civil War, right up to the 1940s. They were wood, metals of all kinds, bakelite, glass, cinnabar, ceramic, mother-of-pearl, fish and animal bone, semi-precious stones. Who knows what that collection would be worth to collectors today.

My grandson is almost 1 yr. My son said when he goes over to something he isn’t supposed to touch, he reaches out, shakes his head “no”, looks at my son, …………and touches it. Gee, that sounds like my son when he was that age. LOL

Pence says he is praying that President Trump does not pardon the J-6ers who were convicted of “assaulting” police officers on January 6th. I say, each case should be thoroughly reviewed to make sure the prosecution’s evidence was not manufactured or exaggerated and whether the accused was given a fair trial. If the prisoner is once again declared to be guilty, then he should serve his time with all the traditional “time off for good behavior”, etc. If anyone was jailed for what is considered an outlandishly lengthy sentence, then he should be pardoned when a more reasonable time has been served.

Everyone else should be pardoned immediately.

President Trump should definitely pardon Brian Kolfage. Then his Justice Department should conduct a thorough investigation to discover just exactly who is responsible for the truly torturous treatment Brian is receiving. Those persons should be put on trial.

I pray that Brian is not permanently injured because of his treatment in this gulag prison.

I wish Trump would ask Biden to pardon him NOW as a favor. This is too horrible. I lost track of Kolfage back during his trial. I never dreamed that he was found guilty and put in jail.
