Mornin’ kids! What MORE fresh hell…..

Good mornin’, Miss Wee. We’re quite familiar with these storms, but this one seems to be different than most that have come before, and we certainly have a pair in the swamp who have no compassion, nor idea what to do next. Bless those folks from the Cajun Navy and Samaritan’s Purse and others like them. I hope this leads towards a Reagan/Mondale slaughter. Coffee’s ready, ma’am.

Yeah, since we’re sorta flattish boats can eventually get to people. These poor souls are literally stranded everywhere.

Which one of our Inepti-crats is in charge of disasters like this. BTW, I think I just invented that new word. Just looked it up and guess where FEMA falls in the gubmint. Under the same guy who’s letting all the e-legals in. How special is this going to be.

I go into those mountains in Tennessee and North Carolina and north Georgia every chance I get. I do not think most people understand what it’s like up there at all. Not only are the roads mostly along the edges of the mountains of course, but the regions are not densely populated. People live either in tiny towns and villages or little communities. A number of people have very private and remote property.
It’s also the very height of humans being unable to think and reason to say they could have prepared for this. Come on people, almost everything everyone prepared with is now floating toward the Atlantic Ocean.
A Biblical level amount of rainfall hits these mountains. What does water do? Well, if you were taught science instead of woke, it seeks the lowest level, and it does that in the most expedient route. A trickle becomes a stream, then a gully, and then a massive wall of water. And that is happening over hundreds of square miles of mountainous territory.
There’s something going for those people up there though, just like the people who live in the swamps. Many of them live on generational lands and properties and Grandma and Grandpa and Mom and Dad always had hard lives and taught them to live with the land.
Those people will be alive when the rescuers get to them. The ones who moved to Western NC for the beauty of the mountains, to escape New York, maybe not. However, I’ve seen stories of people on the farms going to get their neighbors and the elderly. Also saw a mule team going in with provisions.
The mountains are different and the people are quite unique and hardy characters. They have clung to their heritage and ways, doins’ the old ones call it, as well as their guns and Bibles.
If the government were ever really to try and come for us, these people would never even be seen or found. There are reasons for the famous moonshine and revenuers legends from those rough mountains.

Morning Menage! You’ve summed it up quite nicely, I think.

Mornin Menage! I saw this little blurb on the book of faces (busting another one of their stupid control issues…)

I got stuck in South Carolina this weekend. I got news for y’all a cashless society will fall apart without electricity. It gets weird fast. Hotels couldn’t even give me room. They couldn’t even make keys or check the reservation I made online. At the exact time when people needed them the most. I will never leave town without cash. I have a new respect for preppers. They aren’t crazy they are prepared.

All true. Heck, if you’ve ever worked retail, power loss is a nightmare. First, you gotta immediately lock the doors and set employees on them, because the usual people will immediately, I mean e flipping mediatly start to loot.
Second, each register has to have a flash light and calculator and receipt book, but usually you just can’t ring people up because there’s no longer prices on each item, and not enough employees to go look for every item.
Mostly, back up generators kick on. But it is a PITA, and really sad to know that people have no good in them immediately upon some challenging situation, lots of them. Even the ones who won’t steal become asshats when you can’t check them out, or continue whatever service you were giving.
Working retail is boot camp for the I Hate People degree program.

Good mornin’, and Happy Tuesday, kids! We need to be sending out prayers for our friends and neighbors suffering through this horrible hurricane right now. Here’s a model that isn’t brass. Looks like it can handle a crowd. Carpe your coffee!

Longshoremen on strike for first time since 1977. According to Mrs. T, they are telling Brain-Freeze to stay out of it. Get your bananas and other necessities now.

Did you see the interview the other day with the Secretary of Commerce where she said she wasn’t much focused on that when asked about the pending strike?!!!!

I did. I wonder what she thinks is more important to focus on.

I had the best black lab in the world, a little pup given to me by my husband on our 30th anniversary. He was my best friend for 13 years.

I’m in pretty good shape. I’m feeling pretty good, but most of my discomfort all over my body is coming from the fall. my Chiro is helping a lot. my rib at the top on my left side was extremely painful and quit hurting after he adjusted it on my first visit. I was amazed.

I am about to head to mine now. My wacko gait from the ankle makes the hip and back hurt. They can do wonders, can’t they?
Ours even got rid of my husband’s plantar fasciitis. I was pretty amazed over that one. The very excellent skilled doctor who replaced my ankle had been treating my husband for a couple months. Chiropractor made one adjustment and he’s never been troubled again, although he continues to wear the recommended shoes and wear the prescribed inserts.
