I get bored with the three hours of hype and usually miss all the good stuff in the leadup to the race. This is pretty cool. I’ve been to that town and you would not put “Champion Horse Breeder” at the top of your list. Awesome sauce!

Mornin’ T! I love underdogs – remember when Mine That Bird showed up in a broken down horse trailer and a trainer on crutches from New Mexico – and WON?? That was great – paid 50/1!!

That’s the stuff that’s really neat. It appears that some of those “horse people” are worse than some of our snooty politicians.

Ooh, I like this one! Morning Wee.
My food agenda for today is making copycat Schlotzsky’s sourdough bread. I have no further aspirations, that is all. I reckon the man gets bread and water. Pretty sure he can do the rest.

I need a good recipe for lemonade!

It’s guesswork, depending on the tartness of the lemons. Here’s what I do for a gallon. Start with about 8-10 lemons, depending on size. Squeeze well, with an old fashioned citrus squeezer or a reamer, to get all the juice. I like some pulp in my juice, and do not completely strain it out.
Make a simple syrup with bottled water and 2-3 cups sugar. Again, this depends on the lemons and how sweet or tart you want the lemonade. You may have to make a little more syrup and add more at the end.
Do not use chlorinated water! Buy a gallon, or use well water, chlorine ruins it.
Mix the syrup with the lemon juice and add enough water to make about 2/3 of a gallon. This leaves you room to add more lemon juice if it’s not strong or tart enough, or more syrup, or just add water to fill the gallon.
I also like to thinly slice lemons and limes, freeze, and add to the lemonade before serving.

I left out the part where you cool the syrup! 🙄

what about using honey instead of sugar?
LikeLiked by 2 people
I find honey has a distinctive taste and I am careful what I put it in. In Lipton tea I like it, but not in Earl Grey.

I don’t know, I’ve never tried it. Maybe do a small batch?

I don’t recall reading about this. In an “infrastructure” bill signed by FJB in 2021, they included a section about – “mandating expanded monitoring” of drivers. The law requires auto manufacturers to build systems that will monitor various actions of the driver. It does NOT state that this is specifically for impaired driving but is quite broad at this point. This is law, not a phone and a pen Bee-Ess.

How precious is this? Leader of Columbia U anti-Israel protests is a 40-year-old rich guy. He’s been doing this now for nearly 20 years and he runs free as a bird. Silver spoon guy.

Heard on OAN this morning that about 30% of the Columbia rioters were non-students and 60% were non-students at one of the other NY schools.

Good mornin’, Stella. All the more reason for these college presidents to put the hammer down. Mostly not even their own “kids”.

Another beautiful day even though it started out raining (misting) early in the morning. It is 63* right now and overcast. No tornadoes expected…….ever.
I am really disgusted by these protests. Can’t turn on the TV without coverage of all that mess right now.
Hope you are avoiding TV and enjoying the day.

I hope this posts. I don’t know anything about X. This stupid young, ignorant, woman, who will probably remain ignorant for the rest of her life, is crying over not getting to graduate with her class because she was busy protesting. She figures she might not graduate, but she figures it won’t affect her getting a job (LOL). What a moron. She says she would do it again. I hope she is one of those who is gay or decides to not have any children so we won’t have to worry about more like her.

I’ve been reading the last few months that, surprise, surprise, employers look at resumes and Linked In crap with “pronouns” and screen them out, figuring they’d be constant trouble. Yeah, ya think?
I cannot imagine what it’s like to employ young people today. Back in my painting business days, I had a young man who went toe to toe with me over his phone. He wanted to work one handed, be on his phone all day.
He actually told me I had no right to tell him he couldn’t be on his phone. I informed him that the salary I paid him entitled me to both his hands and all his attention. Or, he could be unemployed.

This afternoon I inadvertently ordered something I didn’t want. So, in trying to cancel it, I came across a magazine order that I had cancelled two years ago over the phone or something. I And I knew they would keep coming until the subscription ran out. Anyway, I just discovered that they had renewed the subscription again last month. I had kept getting the magazines for a while, even after I moved, but then quit receiving them because the Post Office quits forwarding them after 18 mo. The reason I didn’t realize was because the address had not been changed from my last address which I just fixed.
But, the puzzling part is, they charged it to my new credit card number which I just got a month or two ago. I had cancelled the other one to stop another charge I didn’t want and couldn’t seem to end the subscription. Anyway, how did they get the new number?
