I wondered to myself if this wasn’t the case. Unfortunately it is.
The Princess of Wales has announced tonight that she has been diagnosed with cancer aged 42 and is undergoing ‘preventative’ chemotherapy.
In a deeply emotional video message, filmed at Windsor on Wednesday, Catherine revealed the news had come as a ‘huge shock’ and that she and William ‘have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family’.
It came days after she was seen smiling with Prince William as they left their favourite farm shop close to their Windsor home.
Speaking from a bench surrounded by daffodils and spring blossom, she said: ‘It has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be ok.
‘As I have said to them; I am well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal; in my mind, body and spirits. Having William by my side is a great source of comfort and reassurance too. As is the love, support and kindness that has been shown by so many of you. It means so much to us both.’
Catherine’s cancer was discovered only after she underwent major abdominal surgery at The London Clinic in January. Kensington Palace has said it will not be sharing details of what kind of cancer the princess has, or what stage of cancer it is and has asked people not to speculate.

I am so sorry to hear this. But, what is “preventive ” chemotherapy? I have never heard of taking it to prevent cancer.

Whatever it is, I hope it works. She is the new blood that this monarchy needs.

I hope the press is just the tiniest bit ashamed of themselves regarding the salacious coverage and acting as if they are entitled to every bit of information about the royal family members.

Yes, indeed! Social media, emanating from the U.S. originally and then picked up by the UK media, has been responsible for some of the most egregious and sick coverage ever put out about an innocent, lovely human being. There are many who believe sociopathic Meghan and her Sussex Squad are responsible for much of the rumors and hateful rhetoric. Quite a bit of sleuthing by honorable folk has been done to discover evidence this is true.
Prayers for Catherine that the chemo will do its job thoroughly, and that people will now stop their outrageous attacks.

Many prayers for her and her entire family–particularly the children.
My life’s vocation is and has been teaching children–mostly preschoolers and pre-Kindergartners but also other ages–and I am fully aware of how tricky and difficult it can be to speak of serious and frightening things with children.
It is important to be both honest AND careful in how much detail is presented, especially to children of varying ages; that takes 100% focus. Each child is different, each child receives and processes things differently. Children also have the propensity to think themselves responsible in some way for bad things that happen. Kate and WiIliam have been and will be involved in a tough but necessary job. May God be with them every day.
