Linus Van Pelt’s beloved blue blanket seems to be the focal point of today’s greeting. Thus it’s appropriate that we find out more about this…well, let’s face it…Linus is obsessed. Go to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linus_Van_Pelt to check out much more of the story.
Here’s a portion of Wiki: “Possession of the blanket is often sought by Snoopy, who used many tricks and subterfuges to relieve Linus of it, even at one point having the blanket delivered to his doghouse. Snoopy ran up, quickly grabbed the blanket in his mouth, and dragged Linus along with it, then swung him and the blanket around before letting go and sending them both soaring off. Once, Linus was so angry at Snoopy for snatching his blanket again and again that he retaliated by threatening Snoopy’s supper dish. Upon hearing that Linus had possession of his most prized possession, Snoopy gave Linus the blanket back fairly quickly, thinking, ‘I never dreamed he would fight so dirty!’ When Lucy buried the blanket, Snoopy took the time to dig for it himself, which meant that he saw Linus digging and looking for his pale blue security blanket, and when he found it, Linus thanked him, upon which Snoopy thought, ‘Every now and then I feel that my existence is justified!’ Linus always won and got the blanket back.”
What IS NOT included at Wiki, however, is that Charles Schultz knew the Van Pelt family quite well. They lived on the same block. His dog used to play with Snoopy all the time. Unfortunately, without permission of any kind, Schultz took Linus’s story and, by extension, Snoopy’s, and ran with it, making millions while both Linus and Snoopy grew to old age without any kind of compensation for this invasion of privacy. I was quite shocked when it all came to light. Linus did, however, forgive him. Snoopy did not…beagles do hold grudges, I’ve heard.
Btw, Schultz left nary a cent to either Linus or Snoopy in his will!
Btw#2, I’ve also heard a similar story about Dilbert and Scott Adams….
Goes to show you never know!

Mornin’, Czarina! The sun is trying to shine here but not having much success. Temperature is 35 degrees at present, heading to 44. I’ve got a big plastic-topped desk and I have to wear gloves because the desk feels like it’s 35, too.

Mornin’, MIss Wee! The good ol’ days! Does it feel like we’re being bossed around by a 3 year-old in the middle of a temper tantrum? I made myself watch about 30 minutes of that train wreck last night. Lordy………… Any idea on why he was almost 30 minutes late? Diaper change? The juice took longer to kick in? Weird. He almost seemed like they might have told him he couldn’t have any ice cream until after he p*ssed off 175 million people. I’ve never seen anything like that.

I watched maybe half. Just couldn’t take anymore. That was more than enough. Did ya’z see this? I’m not on the Tweeter machine, but apparently, that crack staff around the Potato didn’t have the ability to update the time/place for the fiasco last night.

Any others? Problem with that one is I hated Jane Austen, and I know my husband would not care for it.
What’s that midwife show you’ve mentioned? I cannot remember the title.

Call The Midwife. But it is only available on PBS, I think.
I like Agatha Christie, and Britbox has lots of her stuff. I’m trying out Alan Carr’s Adventures now, which I think is a combo travel and adventures based on locations in Christie novels.
PS: I didn’t read the Austen novels, but I like P&P with Colin Firth.

BritBox also has As Time Goes By (Puddy’s and my favorite old comedy series, with Judi Dench and Jeffrey Palmer).

I watch Acorn TV more than Britbox. On Acorn, there is The Good Karma Hospital (set in India), 800 Words (Australia/New Zealand), Doc Martin, Miss Fisher Murder Mysteries (Australia), My Life is Murder (Australia, with Lucy Lawless), Foyle’s War, A Place To Call Home (Australia), Murdoch Mysteries (Toronto), The Brokenwood Mysteries, The Other Wife, Midsomer Murders.
I’ll bet your husband would like Foyle’s War and Midsomer Murders.

What’s disheartening and rather scary is that there are folks who think he did a great job expressing their anger at President Trump and us as his supporters. Brainwashing is alive and well and residing in the Leftie Dem camp.

I know a high school teacher who frequently says “I seen.” Of all the grammar stuff, this is the chalkboard one for me.
And I’m with you on books. Rarely, but it happens, I find things in books written by very popular, high selling authors. How does that happen?
I’ll close with one final screech. He’s no one under 40 learned to use commas and periods? Come on, be honest. How many paragraphs have you read on the internet in the last month that ought to be six or seven sentences, but it’s one?

RNC Votes to Recognize Trump as the Presumptive 2024 Nominee – The former president was recognized as the GOP’s presumptive presidential nominee this week.
Posted March 8, 2024 By Jack Phillips
Ronna McDaniel presided over the RNC vote in her final appearance as the committee’s chairwoman on Friday. She announced last month that she would step down from the role on March 8.
She recognized the “overwhelming success” of the former president’s campaign and how he has secured more than 90 percent of Republican delegates so far. After asking the room to name President Trump as the presumptive nominee, the audience agreed.

Gee. I can remember Republican SOTUs where the Dems actually brought in people to protest to disturb the President. I was pretty indignant myself last night to hear some of those Dems being all indignant about this man interrupting.
