Good mornin’, kids! Halfway through the week and getting closer to the Big Guy bringing some new socks! Coffee’s up and flowing. Help yourself!

More proof that the gubmint doesn’t like us and wants us gone. Your breathing is creating too much methane and other things that are keeling our planet. Especially old people.

FTA – “Older people and females were more likely to be MPs. (Methane Producers)……..Converting from high meat and protein content diets to higher fiber vegetarian options to mitigate emissions”

I have been transitioning to the Carnivore diet for the last couple weeks and can already tell that some issues I have been dealing with are starting to get better. I may have a couple days over the holidays where I will fall off the wagon, but I like it.

I did that in my 20’s – nearly went into some kidney issues after about 3 weeks, so falling off the wagon is a good thing. Vegetarian (back then) was way worse as there were no supplements to speak of for either diet nor recipes to help you out. Besides – I like steak! And bacon…

I have been on low carb for a while now. That and very low carb some of the time. I feel great, and have lost some weight, which is an added benefit. Mostly I gave up sugar, flour, and most fruit. I do have potatoes or sweet potatoes some of the time, and I still drink wine. Because of that weight loss is slower than it would be if I was more strict. I will definitely fall off the wagon this next week! I did at Thanksgiving too, and I can tell you that I didn’t feel nearly as well.

ADD: My blood work looks better now that I am eating low carb.

BBB&E beef, bacon, butter and eggs. Cheese and a handful or two of nuts are a bit “outside” the fence, but I haven’t had any sweets for almost 3 weeks. That’s my kryptonite.

    Go Caroling Day

Mudd Day – as in Dr Mudd who helped John WilkesBooth

    International Human Solidarity Day

National Sangria Day – I think of this as a summer beverage, and I need a hot drink this time of year (yes, it is cold in the south, even if it did not snow yet).

Yes, to caroling….such fun hours of my youth.

Yes, absolutely to Dr. Samuel Mudd Day, whose civil rights were negated. “The Prisoner of Shark Island” (1936), directed by John Ford, is a pretty good representation of his case….

Human Solidarity sounds like a leftie endeavor.

Sangria was one of the few alcoholic beverages my parents would drink.

Afternoon All. About 30* when I got up and up to 35* now. Just overcast and ugly out right now. It is supposed to be this way for a while.

Went to the $1:25 Store this morning to pick up a few things so I can finish my wrapping. It’s a busy place.

Hope you all have a nice day…………..and those in the South can stay warm.

On This Day in History, December 20, 1843….

Debut of ‘A Christmas Carol’ by Charles Dickens

On this day 180 years ago, Charles Dickens’s classic Christmas story A Christmas Carol was published. Dickens, who had already achieved critical acclaim following the release of works including Oliver Twist and The Pickwick Papers, penned the story in a few short weeks for publication before Christmas 1843.
