Good day to you, weather! Beauty is a God-send. Think of the hymn “For the Beauty of the Earth.”

Good mornin’, Miss Wee! I’d be very happy to help decorate that tree! Might take a minute or two! Coffee’s up!

That’s a “whoops”, Czarina,
I did not see your comment, which was down the line from
WeeWeed’s post about various artists rendering of a Christmas tree. Which is why we’re twins in comments today.
Just wanted to pop in and say “hello” to everyone. I’ve only been able to do a quick read lately.

Thanks, WeeWeed! What a wonderful illustration. Another one I’m lifting for my Christmas emails which are scheduled to be sent out today.

More proof that the gubmint doesn’t like us and wants us gone. Your breathing is creating too much methane and other things that are keeling our planet. Especially old people.
FTA – “Older people and females were more likely to be MPs. (Methane Producers)……..Converting from high meat and protein content diets to higher fiber vegetarian options to mitigate emissions”

Mornin’ Tex! That kind of diet could kill you. Really.

I have been transitioning to the Carnivore diet for the last couple weeks and can already tell that some issues I have been dealing with are starting to get better. I may have a couple days over the holidays where I will fall off the wagon, but I like it.

I did that in my 20’s – nearly went into some kidney issues after about 3 weeks, so falling off the wagon is a good thing. Vegetarian (back then) was way worse as there were no supplements to speak of for either diet nor recipes to help you out. Besides – I like steak! And bacon…

That is a thing of beauty!!!!! Be still my heart!

I had the same problem. I think we are all different and need different things, but we have to figure out what works for us. I don’t think the extreme either way is good.

It’s not. We are omnivorous – even though the solid protein diet sounds good, it’ll get ya.

Besides, chewing steak is good for the jaw musces, teeth and gums. Can’t say that about vegetarian food.

I DO have a vegetarian lasagne recipe that I kept, though – and thank goodness – later in life my child had a strictly vegetarian friend and it saved my butt during sleepovers.

I have been on low carb for a while now. That and very low carb some of the time. I feel great, and have lost some weight, which is an added benefit. Mostly I gave up sugar, flour, and most fruit. I do have potatoes or sweet potatoes some of the time, and I still drink wine. Because of that weight loss is slower than it would be if I was more strict. I will definitely fall off the wagon this next week! I did at Thanksgiving too, and I can tell you that I didn’t feel nearly as well.
ADD: My blood work looks better now that I am eating low carb.

Are you still eating eggs? That is my secret weapon – the perfect food!

BBB&E beef, bacon, butter and eggs. Cheese and a handful or two of nuts are a bit “outside” the fence, but I haven’t had any sweets for almost 3 weeks. That’s my kryptonite.

Go Caroling Day
Mudd Day – as in Dr Mudd who helped John WilkesBooth
International Human Solidarity Day
National Sangria Day – I think of this as a summer beverage, and I need a hot drink this time of year (yes, it is cold in the south, even if it did not snow yet).

I am glad you explained Mudd. I thought of the Mudd in Star Trek.

Yes, to caroling….such fun hours of my youth.
Yes, absolutely to Dr. Samuel Mudd Day, whose civil rights were negated. “The Prisoner of Shark Island” (1936), directed by John Ford, is a pretty good representation of his case….
Human Solidarity sounds like a leftie endeavor.
Sangria was one of the few alcoholic beverages my parents would drink.

I read an article earlier today that talked about GM pulling Buick dealerships if they didn’t agree to peddle these wonder cars. Cut off your nose to spite your face. Sadly, it looks like GM will lead the parade off the cliff and I’m in no mood to bail them out again. Word has it that there are a bunch of trade-ins that are gathering dust on the lot. boo-hoo.

Afternoon All. About 30* when I got up and up to 35* now. Just overcast and ugly out right now. It is supposed to be this way for a while.
Went to the $1:25 Store this morning to pick up a few things so I can finish my wrapping. It’s a busy place.
Hope you all have a nice day…………..and those in the South can stay warm.

We just finished a stretch of that weather here, mom…my sympathies. Today the sun is out and, although 41*, it feels warmer! Sunshine is so uplifting 🙂

Sunshine is that—along about early February here in central Oregon, I’ve discovered that I’m not the only one startled when The Big Orange Ball suddenly appears in the sky again.

On This Day in History, December 20, 1843….
Debut of ‘A Christmas Carol’ by Charles Dickens
On this day 180 years ago, Charles Dickens’s classic Christmas story A Christmas Carol was published. Dickens, who had already achieved critical acclaim following the release of works including Oliver Twist and The Pickwick Papers, penned the story in a few short weeks for publication before Christmas 1843.
