Mornin’ All. Under 50* when I got up. I slept really well last night. The sky is blue with some filmy clouds here and there and a slight breeze. Very nice.

I have a lot that I want to get done today, so I hope I don’t get distracted. Hope you all are safe and healthy.

If you’re so inclined, stash this away in your election files as an example of what we deal with when talking to one-lie-after-another lefties. It’s an excerpt from The Epoch Times article “New Debate Rages Over Age Limits for Politicians After McConnell’s Latest Freeze”

Democratic strategist Matt Angle, founder of the Lone Star Project, told The Epoch Times that: “Joe Biden has had the most successful first term in 50 years. At 80, he’s far more lucid, competent, and accomplished than any Republican congressional leader, [former President] Donald Trump, or any of the second-string Republicans running against Trump,” he said. “An age limit arbitrarily restricts voter choices. Voters can and should judge on competence and suitability, not age alone. Biden’s age is an issue mostly because it’s mentioned in every media story about him.”

As has been said, many folks are fortunate that pants don’t actually catch on fire when giving out with falsehoods or there’d multiple scorched behinds.

Age is not the problem. Dementia and being beyond the recall date for recovering from strokes and other diseases is the problem.

None of those things is inherently tied to age and pretending it is just gives the liars the opportunity to claim ageism.

Dementia, strokes, cancer (treatments for which can be utterly disabling for a very long time) may occur in a person’s 30s, 40s, 50s, etc.

Allowing them to frame the discussion with regard to age is essentially giving them a pass on the issue. The issue is—having demented, diseased, and dying people of any age who are too sick to do the job in high office.

Exactly! Personally I only know one person my age (81) or older who could run a nation. My final boss was totally competent at 81 and still is at 92. His ability to recall, his knowledge, and decision making is top notch. He’s not in excellent physical condition, though.

The physical and mental conditions of anyone running for the Presidency should be the primary concerns.

Huge Win for Trump: Judge Swiftly Dismisses Lawsuit Against Him, Rules Plaintiffs Have No Standing
    By C. Douglas Golden – September 1, 2023 at 4:58am

How intellectually impoverished is the argument that the 14th Amendment prevents Donald Trump from running for president?

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis is not an unbiased prosecutor, and anyone who says she is, is either blind or purposely refusing to see.
