The Trans-Siberian railway one is not what one imagines as Russian landscape, is it? Seems like every country has its areas of profound beauty.

Across its 11 time zones there is much geographical beauty in Russia.

Khibiny National Park protects a mountainous region of taiga and tundra on the Khibiny Mountains and Lovozero Massif of the western Kola Peninsula in northwestern Russia…

Afternoon All. In the low 60’s and very pleasant in the shade or hot sun here. The sky is very blue with lots of really pretty clouds floating all over. It clouded up yesterday afternoon and really rained for an hour or so. I don’t know how much we got, but everything definitely got wet. That was good since there are fires here and it did rain where some of them are. Hopefully that will help.

It is just awful about Hawaii. They had no place to go except into the ocean. They say they don’t know how the fires started, but I am thinking we probably do. I think I heard them say that the fires started in different places. Probably the best way to handle arsonists is to do what they used to do to witches, tie them to a post and set them on fire. That might stop some of this.

Well, hopefully no fires wherever you are and a have a nice day.

Good afternoon, aus! Since the news report of the Maui disaster almost always include something like this….

“The fires were whipped by strong winds from Hurricane Dora passing far to the south. It’s the latest in a series of disasters caused by extreme weather around the globe this summer. Experts say climate change is increasing the likelihood of such events.”

…the likelihood that the fires were set by some nut job with a WEF agenda can’t be ruled out.

Hello, kids! I’m back! Long sordid story, and I’ll elaborate over the next few days. Suffice it to say, I’m much less constricted at the moment. Reviewing some options and we’ll see where they take me and Mrs. T. I saw this earlier today, and since I’m in this age group, it stuck out a bit…………….Do stents really work? This author isn’t a big fan, shall we say. Some number back them up and chalk the successes up to the Placebo Effect……………..hmmmmmm

I have stents, placed while I was actively having a heart attack. I don’t know whether they are bad or good, but they seemed to have saved my heart with very little body invasion. I have had friends (prior to cath and stent) who had their chests cracked, and I’m happy that I didn’t have to endure that. Home in two days, and it is almost 4 years later.

ADD: I imagine that placing stents when a person has NOT had a heart attack is questionable.

Good day, Stella. Taking the advice of doctors re operations, procedures and medications plus being aware of side effects and studying up on whatever condition you are diagnosed with and pray, that’s about the best most of us can do. Stents probably saved your life. Thank God for that.

I have two as well. The first was inserted while I was having a heart attack; the second was inserted one week later. I was about the have an operation to remove a lower bowel obstruction. I was prepped and ready to go under the knife, so luckily I was in the the VA hospital at the time. The lower bowel obstruction went away on its own, while I was recuperating.

Two of my BILs have stents; one was cracked then stents were placed. The other has had stents put in twice, and most recently a pacemaker. Neither leades a particularly healthy lifestyle; I haven’t a clue why. I guess some folks believe it’s like not caring for your teeth because a dentist can always fix you up.

!!!! I don’t know the expertise of the author, but a neighbor of ours had a massive heart attack and had the angioplasty and 2 stents put in in the middle of it. That was nearly 30 years ago (he was in his early 30’s) and he’s still kickin’. I do believe his stents were more for the clot factor and that was back then. My uncle had stents because he had aneurysm issues – and he made it into his 80’s – and died of old age and dementia.

My interpretation of the article is that it doesn’t appear there is the efficacy if they are put in as a preventive measure, as much as for a post-cardiac event.

I had thought that everything had been sold off several years ago. Nope. Lisa Marie retained 15% of Elvis Presley Enterprises plus 100% of Graceland, and assorted other pieces. Glad they kept that in the family.
