Thanks, weather! The next best thing if traveling far and wide is not a possibility is viewing video travelogues, live camera feeds, and photos. Searching out fun places to visit every day is a great hobby.

I, too, was puzzled by that. But, thankfully, someone compassionate came to her rescue, then another thought to ask the right question! So many events fell in place; all were ministers of her miracle.

Absolutely malpractice. Why her doctors didn’t order a complete examination is baffling. It’s possible her case is one of those happenings where the victim is blamed. Can’t find a cause? Call it psychosomatic.

This day in history…May 7, 1945…GERMANY SURRENDERS….
Germany, as represented by General Alfred Jodl, Chief of Staff of the German Army, signs an unconditional surrender in General Dwight D. Eisenhower’s headquarters at Rheims, France thus ending six years of war in Europe.
Four years earlier the Nazi bombing of London in what was known as the London Blitz was coming to an end (September 7, 1940-May 11, 1941). Here’s a fascinating video on that city in World War II…

This video is made as seen through the eyes of my parents who lived in London during the war. They met each other in 1943 and got married in the summer of 1945. My father was stationed in London as a member of the Dutch Navy and my mother, who was born in London, worked for a large London warehouse. She lived through the entire 5 year war period, including the Blitz that lasted over 8 months as well as the V1 and V2 attacks period.

My mother met my dad during the war, and they married in 1943. She used to tell us about living in London with my 2 older sisters born in 1944 & 1945, Her mother would phone from Greenwich to warn her about approaching Nazi V1 and V2 flying bombs so she could move the bassinettes under an archway.
Hard to imagine the stress!

Czar’s mother, uncle and grandmother lived in London for the entire war, including having to go into the underground during bombings. It is interesting to see the people just walking around with the bombed out buildings in the pictures, like it was just everyday life. I remember seeing pictures of the Queen visiting with people in the streets among the rubble.

He’s doing really well. Eating his regular food now, and pooping on schedule! He’s still taking an antibiotic, but the rest of his meds are finished. I took his cone off today. He’s doing fine, and I got tired of being whacked on the back of my legs with that thing. I have bruises.
He has one more vet appointment on Wednesday. I have a bone to pick with them (more than one actually), but that’s another story. I’m on a hunt for a new vet.

Good news…was just wondering about Tucker this morning!
We have only one vet here in town who’s definitely not perfect. She told a neighbor their dog’s broken foot was not healing; the neighbor drove the dog & X-ray 75 miles north to another vet, and it turned out our vet was mis-reading the X-ray.
Shakes your faith, but what’re you going to do? She gets more right than wrong…but it’s sort of roulette!

I have been using the same vet for 30 years. They recently sold out to a national group, and their level of concern for the pets and increase in concern for profits is obvious. I called and left messages twice about concern for Tucker’s condition (vomiting), and they were open at the time. They failed to call me back, and this was on Saturday, so they were closed until Monday. I had to call the emergency vet, and they were very helpful. Second, when I paid his bill (more than 2K dollars) with a debit card, they failed to mention that they would charge me 3% of the total as a surcharge. It is a new policy. I looked at the invoice amount, and didn’t notice the surcharge on the card receipt until later. Yes, I failed to notice it because I was upset at the time, but you would think that they might have told me about it. When I called to complain, I got a bunch of snottiness. That was the last straw. I could easily have written a check if I had known, and avoided an $83 charge.

Grrrrrrr! You should NEVER have to leave a message at ANY medical office in the first place. It’s a shame your vet had to sell out. Sign of the times.

Now it’s on to finding toys Tucker can’t chew up if there are such things…and to locating a vet and staff whose priority is the loving care of pet patients, not the pocketbook.

And the late Queen, with remarkable grace and wisdom, made royal provision for Camilla to be crowned Queen.
It was sin, forgiven, and grace restored. That may yet allow the kingdom to survive.

MTG and the other Tucker speculate that SSRI’s might have something to do with mass shootings……..”media” says, no way. Just makes me think there’s a lot more to this. I know it’s been discussed here and next door. I’m on team MTG/TC on this one. But don’t hold your breath. Pharma has an awful tight grip on far too many people and institutions.
