Had a short visit with my primary care doc yesterday. For the first time in three years, when I got the “summary sheet” at the end of the appt, the covid shot was not listed as being overdue. The overdue category is still there (it showed flu shot overdue) but the covid shot was not listed.

The entire medical business my doc is tied to is undergoing a huge software “upgrade” so there were quite a few clarifying and repeat questions because, as they said, “alot of the information in the records ‘didn’t come over’ in the transfer….” (oh, that’s encouraging…) Anyway, as my friend Stephanie (the nurse person who I’ve known for years now) was doing some updates, I told her that if she asked for my pronouns (which the records have space for) I would have to smite her.

She just groaned and said, “You have no idea what we have to deal with…”

I have noticed this – the complete disappearance of questions/lectures about the covid shot. Not one word was said to me about my lack-of-that-particular-vaccination back in February. Nothing – when I had been harangued for over 2 years…..

I believe those docs were kept in the dark just as much as we were, although you’d like to think they’re always on top of everything. They seemed pretty much dictated to throughout the Covid ordeal and threatened to keep their educated mouths shut. Sorta gestapoesque.
You gonna get a flu shot, Sharon? We’ve decided no more shots…ever. Can’t really trust what’s in them now.

Same here. I told my new doc that I don’t want any vaccinations and I will maybe, only maybe, discuss some of the tests.

No, I will not get another flu shot.

I had one every year for the previous 20 years or so (prior to 2020)–but after observing firsthand the willingness of the FDA and the CDC to change the protocols, ignore standard research practices, and be dishonest in press releases (which was further documented by–finally–internal documents surfacing)…no more. And when I spoke of the curtailed clinical trials to my doc three years ago, he said that was not true. To this day I don’t know whether he was ignorant or lying; and don’t know which would be worse.

I would never have accused any of them of the groups of doing that they have done.

A nurse practitioner with a large hospital system told me they were told what to say about supporting the COVID myth, and shut up or find another job.

I have decided if anyone asks for my pronouns, I am going to play dumb, so dumb that they cannot even explain it to me. I will just keep saying, “That makes no sense.”

I checked my online chart, and the Covid booster is still listed as “overdue”. I haven’t been to my primary care doctor recently, but the cardiologist never mentions it.

Mornin’ All. It was 36* when I got up, and it was and probably still is snowing. Just little flakes here and there. Normal Montana weather, I guess.

Went back to the dentist so he could check my space where the tooth was pulled back in Jan. He is sending me to an oral surgeon because he can’t tell if it has finally closed up and he was concerned about it. I think it very likely is finally healing over and maybe nothing else will need to be done. Of course, what I see are $$$$$. 😦

Well, all have a nice day and I hope your weather is good.

I hear that call sometimes, but it’s different from the usual one around here.
And…at the beginning of the season when they’re mating up…there is clearly a wolfe whistle that preceeds the usual call, which leads me to believe this is the true origin of the wolfe whistle. I’ve recorded it on my phone but can’t find it on the internet so far.
Love their song, as it heralds the end of winter.

    https://www.kptv.com/2023/04/21/oregon-secures-3-year-supply-abortion-inducing-medication/

    From the article:

“Research shows that medication-induced abortions are safe and effective…”

No babies were available for comment.

It’s a shame that such a high # of women apparently can’t figure out how to not get pregnant.

I know of two women who have had abortions, one had 2 and the other had 3. That is just so unnecessary. They were using abortion as a contraceptive. One as one daughter and the other has three. I believe they both finally had their tubes tied.
