Dogwood Blossoms in a Foggy Forest Painting by Raymond Gehman

There’s a legend that a dogwood tree, once large and stately, formed the cross on which the Christ was hung:

Slender and twisted, it shall be
With blossoms like the cross for all to see.
As blood stains the petals marked in brown,
The blossom’s center wears a thorny crown.
All who see it will remember Me
Crucified on a cross from the dogwood tree.

Why you should visit Westminster Abbey

P.S. In case you don’t already know, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore (Il Duomo) is in Florence, Italy.

Afternoon all. It is 42* and somewhat humid here. Actually a very comfortable day. I had groceries delivered yesterday and put them away and then loaded up the car and went to do laundry. Then, when I got back, I had to put away and fold all the laundry ad make the bed. It was Maundy Thursday at church and my friend and I went to the service. By the time I got home I was really tired.

The groceries were for some extras to make some dishes to take to my kids’ for Easter. Turns out, it won’t be just us, there are other people coming, so there will be about 17 in all. I hope the granddaughters are all over their stomach virus by then. It evidently only lasted a couple of days. They got sick over Christmas, too. I remember several Christmases when I was young that we all spent being very sick. We called it the “stomach flu”. It was really awful.

Well, hope you all have a nice day.

Hi mom! Got my grocery delivery today, and I really need to do laundry. My hard boiled eggs have been turning out great lately, peeling pretty easily without gouging the whites.

When my grandsons were younger, they would get sick at my house just about every Christmas, and sometimes at Thanksgiving too. On top of that, I usually caught something from them! Those days are now past.

Reminded me that in 4th, 5th, and 6th grades I missed the class Christmas parties because of a stomach bug. Just the day before vacation, threw up the night before. Thanks for the memory…🙃
