Kosciuszko National Park, New South Wales, Australia…

“The mountain was named by the Polish explorer Paweł (Paul) Edmund Strzelecki in 1840, in honour of Polish-Lithuanian freedom fighter General Tadeusz Kościuszko, because of its perceived resemblance to the Kościuszko Mound in Kraków, Poland.” (Wikipedia)

CPR again. Every 2 years I have to take the online standardized course and test, then do the practical test. For 45 years I have done this, sometimes every year, never needed the skills, but I review them dutifully. They have changed the course this year, and it is mixed up info between adults, children under 8 and infants, which is very confusing. It took me three hours last month to get through it. When I went to do the live check-off I discovered I’d signed up for the computer assisted manikin, and I did not have the upper body strength or endurance any more to pass.
Now here is the dilemma: am I forced to quit working in my field, where I am quite competent, and am available to cover for other therapists when needed and in hospitals where there is no one else, simply because I cannot physically perform the CPR compressions deeply and rapidly enough? I had to re-register for the course, and pay for it this time, and am slogging through the online portion again this week. Monday I will do the live check-off with an instructor.
In real life, if I’m ever needed, I can go through the steps of calling for help, checking for breathing and pulse, and starting compressions and breaths, and using the AED. If they are not perfect and I’m alone, I’ll do as well as I can do.

That doesn’t seem right czarina. Why should a physical limitation rule all? Isn’t that discrimination (I’m serious).

A little spike of adrenaline won’t hurt, either! If a teenager can lift a truck off his dad…! You’re a gem, Czarina.

That’s for sure. 🙂

You are always in my prayers, but I will add a request for you to be able to pass the test.

Afternoon, Miss Stella. I’m stocking up on coffee today. Gotta head your way tomorrow for a couple days in the Windy City! Yeehaw! Looks like it’s not supposed to be too bad……….if my luck holds out!

Mornin; All, It is 25* and overcast here Pretty much the same as it has been all week, only it is windy and that seems to make it feel much colder. Loki didn’t care.
I went to the eye doctor yesterday and got another shot in my eye. They had taken pictures again and compared them to the last time. The doc had used a newer medicine and it was much better, So this time I can go 8 weeks for the next check. I don’t have macular degeneration. I didn’t think so. It is a type of bleed. I am so grateful to God.
I fixed my vacuum. It picks up dog hair well now. It had quit working when my son was using it when I moved out of my apartment in Florida. I thought it was an electrical problem, but it turned out to be a dog hair plug about the size of a small fluffy dog. Down there the walkway was between oak trees and so small twigs and pieces of brittle leaves got dragged in the front door all the time. They joined with the dog hair to make a tight plug. It was about 3 feet of dog hair compressed into about a 1 1/2 ft part of the hose in the vacuum. Thanks to YouTube. There was a really good video on fixing my vacuum.
Well, ready for breakfast now. Hope all are well and warm.

Afternoon mom! I love YouTube fixit videos, and am so glad you were able to get your vacuum working again. Thanks to YouTube, I was able to replace the igniter in my gas oven.

If this isn’t a Captain Obvious article, I don’t know what would be………”Romney to Face Uphill Battle for Reelection”. Let’s see why – 2 votes to convict 45 in impeachment. No endorsement for Mike Lee; voted for Ketanji for SCOTUS; Voted for $1.7T porkulus…………Gee, I don’t know why anyone wouldn’t want some more of that for another 6 year.

Gee, I wonder what she was thinking……………Elizabeth Holmes, convicted of a massive fraud, bought a one-way ticket to Mexico after her conviction. The Feds caught it 3 days before she was going to leave.

Take your pick: get poisoned by China-made food items from a dollar store or buy juice and other beverages from THE COCA-COLA COMPANY.

Simply Orange Is Facing A Lawsuit Alleging Its Juice Contains Toxic PFAS Levels
The class-action lawsuit says the drink contains chemicals “hundreds of times” over the federal limit.
Simply Orange juice might be less simple than they let on. The popular drink, owned by parent company Coca-Cola, is facing a class-action lawsuit that alleges the product contains dangerously high levels of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) — toxic chemicals that have been tied with a bevy of health issues.

Don’t trust any juice that comes out of a bottle, and I almost never drink soda/pop of any kind. Just luck, but that’s the way I was raised. Soda/pop and juice were like candy – an occasional treat.
