Find it interesting that only early voting dates are listed on my union’s newsletter.

The union mailed info about who to vote for and the important dates to register to vote and the early voting period.

Nowhere was the actual election date.

    Hmmmm

UFCW- United food & commercial workers is my union. The employees across the US are protesting our union.

The new contracts are horrible. Our workers are no longer protected. If you drop below an average of 38 hrs/wk in a year, you lose full time status and a decrease in pay grade.

We never see our union reps.

The union builds new buildings for themselves.

If you call asking about benefits, if someone actually answers then you are treated like an idiot and an inconvenience.

The kicker, employees overwhelmingly vote no on new contracts. Then the union sends threatening texts about the contract being good. At the last minute, the 2nd contract vote changes to yes to accept.

You can’t get out of the union once you joined.

Some employee divisions are looking to remove this union in order to run their own union.

A blessed Sunday morning to you all….Winter has arrived. At the moment the snow is falling, the winter winds are gusting, and my coffee is hot. A good day to stay inside.

    Stay warm everyone…

Kanye West plotting to build network of tiny planned cities called ‘Yecosystem’… with branded shops, homes, schools and news outlets
    PUBLISHED: 12:49 EDT, 22 October 2022

Kanye West is reportedly plotting to build a network of tiny planned cities called the ‘Yecosystem’ and has already filed copyright applications for it.

The 45-year-old, whose nicknames include Yeezy, is trying to trademark the words ‘Yeezyverse,’ ‘Yzyverse’ and ‘Yxyverse’ for the project, according to Rolling Stone.

He hopes for each city to be able to sustain itself, with its own branded homes, shops, schools, news outlets and production houses.

Sort of reminds me of the company town (think mines and railroads).

My paternal grandfather ran a company store in Arizona, somewhere near Prescott, Jerome, or Chandler. My Dad had a photo of the store which is likely in the huge trunk full of framed photos I have in my living room.

That trunk is so heavy I can’t drag it out from under the cabinet where it’s stored. Next time any strong relatives visit, I’ll prevail upon them to set it up so we can look through it.

I have about 5 boxes, small to large, full of family photos. That is one job I will definitely be tackling these long snowy winter months.

Part of your winter project might be to put names on the photo backs. I have a photo in its original cardboard frame of my paternal grandmother’s grandmother. But I don’t know whether it’s her Mom’s mother or her Dad’s. And the only thing it says on the back is “To Georgie, Love from Grandma.” Georgie was Grandma Georgia’s nickname.

Love to look through family photos and they don’t even have to be of my own family. Plus I’m a sucker for old slide shows of friends’ vacations, weddings, etc.

Afternoon all. Just got home. There is a bible study after church. It was very interesting. This is the first Sunday I stayed for it. I think I have said that one of the maintenance guys here helped me put the mirrors on my dressing table. And, he also hung a shelf that has a quilt bar under it. Anyway, I told him was looking for a washer and dryer and he said a few months ago somebody had moved out and left a set here. They didn’t know what to do with it. I wish I had told him sooner because I could have had it. Well, I should get the next one.

It is up to 50* here now. But there is snow on the tops of the mountains. They look really beautiful. And, the sky is a beautiful blue with puffy clouds here and there. It rained all day yesterday, well misted all day. But, no rain so far today.

    Back to unpacking. Never ending.

    All have a nice day.
