Iraqi Drought Reveals Stunning 3,400-Year-Old City Covered By Tigris River

German and Kurdish archaeologists have uncovered an ancient metropolis of the Mittani Empire once submerged below the Tigris River. The settlement was revealed when the levels of the Mosul reservoir plunged earlier this year due to extreme drought in Iraq.
The extensive city with a palace and several large buildings could be Zakhiku—believed to have been an important center in the Mittani Empire between 1550-1350 BC.

Mornin’ All. It is 40* and without the sun completely up it is really cool outside. There is a potluck after church today. I made a sweet potato casserole. Unfortunately, it was a recipe I hadn’t tried before and it didn’t turn out the way I had imagined it should. Don’t ever plan to take something you haven’t made before.
I had wanted to take a broccoli/cauliflower cheese casserole, but there was no way to heat it and I can’t imagine it cold. Oh, well.
Pray for Florida. And, have a nice day.

Hope you just stopped in the local grocery and got some mini marshmallows to throw on top the casserole. If no one else wants it, at least the kids will be thrilled…LOL!

No, I didn’t put any marshmallows on it, but evidently it turned out fine. One woman told me that people were saying it was the best thing on the table. They had put it with the desserts. It was a really nice potluck……….but there was no ice tea. 😯

Remember all the hoopla about the cancer vaccines for kids back around 2005-06? HPV vaccines that were going to eliminate these things for our young people. Well………..it appears there may have been more hype than help. A number of of cancers that were going to be stopped in their tracks are showing higher rates of infection. Not that I’m piling on, but the good Dr. Menge….. er, Fau-Chi was heavily involved in the development and pushing of these vaccines on an unsuspecting public.

Still in mine so far. But I remember some letters to the editor a while back against Doonsbury then against Dilbert. Basically the Times Picayune- Advocate decided to keep them both, and to print letters from all sides of any issue. Novel idea?
