In coastal MS the irises and Lillie’s bloomed ages ago. Here in Charlottesville they haven’t started. Crepe myrtles are blooming.

Other than flowers like roses, irises, tulips, poppies, daisies, sunflowers, etc., I don’t know the names of most flowers when I see them such as crepe myrtles. So I had to look up the crepe myrtle only to discover it’s a more of a tree than a bush….

…and a close-up of the blooms…
Very pretty!

Finger nail on string and saturated in reverb, begins to feedback.
It took him 30 years to release an alternate version. In his own words. “Something magical happened that night in Florida between Dwayne and I that never happened again”.

I have a lot of LPs of that entity! I always appreciated his ability with 6/12 strings!!! I held him to a high standard, Bob Dylan comes to mind! The man can do it all!

Thanks, Gary, for the technical explanation. This version of LAYLA is now a favorite of mine, right up there with this WONDERFUL TONIGHT performance which I VHS taped the night it was aired on PBS in 1988 and wore out the terrific Dire Straits set….

Lucille, Lovely name in the guitar world by the way,
I had the honor of seeing them tour together and it was then I learned what an epic composer Mark Knopfler truly is. For years I’ve tried to explain how Mark composed the intros to all the songs and you never knew what they were going to play by the intro alone.
If you grew up playing guitar these two men taught you that less is more. I confess though, Edward Lodewijk (Ludwig) Van Halen will reign supreme as the best until another alien is born.

Evenin, Miss Wee. You know that Unidos US is the rebranded version of La Raza. Nice bunch of folks, but even the good “doctor” clowned herself on this one.

Morning’ All. Coolish but a little humid this morning. It was overcast, but is clearing off. Hope you all have a nice day. I am waiting for my DIL and her best friend to arrive to help me this morning. So I will have to check back in later.

Well, the “we” she said was coming turned out to be her and the three granddaughters. So, maybe less done, but thoroughly enjoyable anyway. My bedroom is almost finished and we made some changes in the kitchen and moved some boxes. Next time she will have the tool box and we can hang the curtains. I have to make sure I have all the parts/pieces needed to do that.

Apparently there actually exists a 10-year old girl in Ohio who was raped and obtained an abortion in Indiana. My questions: When was this abortion performed, how many weeks pregnant was she at the time, and was it legally necessary for her to travel to Indiana to obtain an abortion?

Apparently this guy has been living and working in Ohio for seven years. Illegally.

I am still skeptical. The way things have been going with these Dems I wouldn’t be shocked to find out that they promised this guy something to make this confession. And, why couldn’t anybody find out why he wasn’t in custody and there being records, etc.

Even after reading the article rather hurriedly, I ended up a tad confused. It says that the rapist was arrested on Tuesday which I assume is yesterday.
In addition to your questions, Stella, here are a few of mine….
Was the rape actually reported some time ago and prior to Roe v. Wade being vacated but no one bothered to notify the Attorney General’s office? Did the family know the guy and also know he was in the U.S. illegally? Why wasn’t he reported to ICE? Is the family also here illegally? Did his place of employment know he was an illegal? Does Ohio have a provision in their constitution that abortions are allowed in cases of incest and violent rape (as opposed to consensual statutory rape)? Lots of words in the article, not much real information.
Since the WaPo also investigated this rape report and did not find any evidence and the Attorney General checked into it, and pro-life entities investigated it, why wasn’t the information readily available? Leads me to think it just got reported and perhaps after the abortion was performed.

OK, re my last sentence, I forgot about this paragraph:
“Columbus police were made aware of the girl’s pregnancy through a referral by Franklin County Children Services that was made by her mother on June 22, Det. Jeffrey Huhn testified Wednesday morning at Fuentes’ arraignment. On June 30, the girl underwent a medical abortion in Indianapolis, Huhn said.”
Still, it’s funny that investigators could not find the info easily. I wonder if someone was protecting illegal aliens and the abortionist let the cat out of the bag. Yeah, I’m being real cynical as it pays to be on most occasions with lefties.

I agree that there are more questions than answers. Perhaps some will do a deep dive into the facts of the case so that we get some answers.

Just looked up what the average sentence is for rape: “The average sentence for offenders convicted of rape was 178 months: ♦ 19.1% of these offenders were convicted of an offense carrying a mandatory minimum penalty; their average sentence was 318 months. The average sentence without a mandatory minimum was 145 months.”
– Quick Facts on Sexual Abuse Offenses – https://www.ussc.gov › pdf › Sexual_Abuse_FY18
So if the child rapist also has additional crimes added in such as child abuse and is convicted, he’s likely to spend considerable time in prison. Life behind bars would be the best, but that’s not likely.
Additional questions: How could the family afford an abortion? How did they locate the abortionist? Did the Franklin County Children Services provide the information before they notified police of the crime? Did the abortionist, who I’m sure makes a very good living killing babies, perform the abortion pro bono since the publicity would be worth big bucks?
I pray that the little girl gets excellent counseling so that she survives ALL the physical and emotional trauma. Poor little darling.

A question I have long wondered about. Why do the Brits pronounce words that have the letters er as if they were ar? Examples: Clerk pronounced as if spelled clark, derby pronounced as if spelled darby.
