I’m sure you know that I have posted several recipes and videos for and about biscuits over the past couple of years.
Here is one of my favorite YouTube cooks making a biscuit recipe for his Sunday “Old Cookbook Show”.
I’ve never heard of these, but based on their reaction, I would be glad to try them.
Recipe:
Ingredients:
3 cups flour
6 teaspoons Rumford Baking Powder
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
4 tablespoons shortening
1 cup mashed cooked sweet potato
About 1 cup milk
Method:
Sift the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt together, cut in the shortening, add the potatoes, then the milk gradually, and mix to a soft dough.
Turn onto a floured board and roll out one-half inch thick, cut into biscuits, place on a baking sheet and bake twelve to fifteen minutes in a hot oven.
I will definitely make this. I like sweet potatoes any way I have eaten so far.

They look yummy, and I love sweet potatoes too, but he says they affect the color and texture rather than tasting like sweet potatoes.
