A 2-person job, at least – we use small wooden cooking tongs…big cat…2 pills! (Our vet charges $5 to perform the act.) 🙂

We rolled the cat in a heavy bath towel, one held the body with the legs pinned tight, the other opened the mouth and shoved the pill covered with butter into the cat’s mouth then held the jaws shut and blew into the cat’s nose so it would swallow. Worked about half the time. Holding the cat tightly by the scruff of the neck with feet off the floor immobilized the cat but then you still have to get he pill in. Best is to pay the vet…. Or skip pills. Also note banana flavored amoxicillin is not a cat friendly flavor.

Every Spring we treat the animals on the farm for worms and give shots. The various tribes of cats are a process. Three people required.
First corral all felines in grain room with operator number one, using milk as lure, of course. Then, one by one, starting with the wilder ones of the wandering barn tribe, the scruff is grabbed and the pass through the door to operator number two who has the hardest job. Even the easy work is hard. Requiring over pants. The trick is to sort of throw the cat against the(my) leg so all four sets of claws engage and not losing your grip. It’s a quick move as you have about one second before operator number three gives the shot and when the cat objects to that, pill time. Did I mention having to do all this while holding a pill between fingers? When the cat has all four sets of sharp toes dug in and has my finger clamped firmly in jaws, only then do ya really have them immobilized. Release, scat, then, on to the next one. Actually less bother per(purr?)than doing this with one cat by myself.
Twenty cats is a big number, most ever, including the house cat, takes awhile. Love cats, hate rats.
Our goal is to prevent deep state operatives treating us the same way.

Ah ha! So you do understand! The most we ever had was 8 inside and outside combined, but since we now live in the country I always anticipate more arrivals. Right now I hear one doing the ‘worm cough’ indicating it is time for Droncit shots. Rather do shots than pills. Can you get those without a vet?

Farm vet, source for all things medicinal. Even has a supply of actual sulfur containing balm.

Orange tabby? And tuxedo…two of my favorites!

The tuxedo is a nutjob. They recently started giving him kitty tranquilizers and he is much better. He is beautiful though.
