I did. Clearwater Beach is fab. Moved from CO 12 years ago, as it became a blue state. And of course, we have Ron D as gov.

My mother started spending her winters in Florida (Nov-April) starting when she was 80 years old and every year until her 90th. Maybe there is hope for me yet!

I originally moved to help out my sis-in-law, who is now 87 and lives in Winter Springs. Her husband of 55 years (my oldest brother) had passed about 10 years before, and her house needed some TLC. When I spent some time visiting friends over on the Gulf coast, I decided to move over permanently.

My mom (and cousins) had places in Bradenton. Before that, they were on the east coast south of Miami.

Never made it to Florida yet. Closest I ever got was living 8 months in Augusta, Ga. Boy was the summer ever hot there.

Definitely hot. I also hear they have insect issues.

Heat, humidity, insects, alligators, snakes, all available in Florida.

The thing I think I liked best about my visits to Florida was the citrus. My cousins (where my mom stayed) had a huge pink grapefruit tree, juice orange tree and lemon tree. Wonderful! Also the humidity in the winter.

Grew up in Miami, so the swamps and beaches were home. Actually less humid and hot than Louisiana and Mississippi, due to ocean breezes. Went to college in Tampa, frequently visiting Clearwater (what a beautiful crescent beach) and St Petersburg Beaches. Knew the gulf coast and central parts of the state below Orlando vey well. Lived in beautiful Coral Gables and Coconut Grove. Love my Florida!

I visited Miami quite frequently in the 1980’s and loved it! A friend let us stay in a high rise apartment he owned on the intercoastal in North Miami. Heaven!
