This is where I live, yes. You could actually throw in some snow on a few days. I think on the first day our our big blizzard in March of 93 we had about a 40 degree temperature drop in hours.

I had to complete an outdoor task this afternoon, so I’m glad it isn’t raining! Cool and breezy, though. Our high is in the mid-60’s.

I decided to take a Facebook break before Christmas, before Advent IIRC. Deactivated my account. I figured I’d check in on grandkid pictures every so often. But you know, I hardly ever do. I just feel so much better that I simply don’t want to get back on.
They tell me if I give up sugar I’ll feel that way too. I’ll let you know if I ever make it 24 hours and am miraculously cured.

I have been off FB for months now and I don’t miss it. I wonder about a couple of my cousins now and then, but not enough to go back to FB.

Forget about giving up sugar. I had myself on a strict diet for a year where the only sugar I got was from fruit. I also wasn’t eating bread or pasta. I used Stevia if I needed a sweetener. I still missed sugary treats!

Stevia tastes like licorice to me. I’d rather do without sweetener than taste that.

COVID politics…it’s everywhere
This article from September 22, 2021 was published about our local Superintendent-
“North Star Public Schools District Superintendent Bart Hawkins has announced that he is stepping down from his position in order to take a job elsewhere. – My fact check- UnTrue.
Hawkins will complete his tenure on October 7th, and the District is looking for someone to fill the Superintendent position on an interim basis for the remainder of the school year.
Hawkins, who has been the Superintendent since 2013, says he has nothing but love (Untrue) for the North Star District, but the opportunity he is being provided was too good to pass up. (Untrue)
The North Star School Board is expected to conduct a full search for a new Superintendent this spring.
For Eight years this insufferable little Progressive Hitler has held the education of the our local children in his hands.
First you should know that Hawkin’s wife home-schooled his children, yes, that’s right, the Superintendent didn’t send his children to the school that he was responsible for. When the COVID-1984 lockdown was mandated by our Democrat Governor on March 28, 2020, Hawkins shut down our school district and it remained so through the end of the 2021 school year. All the students went to remote learning, sporting events were cancelled, and basically our communities were shuttered, and Mr. Hawkins wanted it to stay that way forevah and evah and evah!.
This summer the school board began talking about whether they would reopen or continue remote learning, community sentiment ran about 50/50 on the issue, and Hawkins was bound and determined that complete lockdowns should continue.
The school board voted to reopen the school. And that became intolerable to Hawkins. Two weeks after the school reopened, the idiot called one school board member and quit because… it was just too dangerous working with the School Board’s new relaxed COVID regulations.
The ‘loss’ of Hawkins is a huge gain for this school district. One progressive down, several more to go. :0)

No kidding. A cashier in the grocery store the other day said that to me when she saw my brace and limp as I walked off. Since she had complained about the allergies she suffered since moving here (in a, shall we say, not Southern accent) I assumed she was offering sympathy and didn’t take offense.
But it oughta be in a welcome wagon brochure to those who move here from other parts of the country. Never, ever say bless your heart to someone directly. Or even in hearing distance. Them’s fightin’ words y’all.

I concur 100% about the merits of hip-hop. I just think it’s hilarious that the phenomenon is crossing many barriers and boundaries that traditionally would not have happened. There certainly appears to be widespread disdain for the clown show happening in our Nation’s Capitol.
