Hello…………..hello………hello. Nobody is here. I took my car back in to have a tire put on it. They couldn’t get the tire yesterday. They fixed some things on the car and found a nail in the sidewall of one, It didn’t cost anywhere near what I was afraid it would for all the work, Weather…same. Maybe just a tad cooler. Well, have a nice day, all who finally get here.

Mornin’ Mom! 55* here this morning…I hate the cold. You’ll hear me whine all fall/winter, now.

Honest ta gawd, the woman in the shorts is my sil from NH at THANKSGIVING…

π This was so funny! Yes, some people do walk around like that when it’s 33 degrees. Me, at 33 I have a shirt with a sweater or blazer, skirt or pants (I’m not a shorts person). I’m good to about 20 below zero with insulated undies, sweater, long pants of course, and a coat. I like to go outside before dawn in the winter & take photographs of winter sunrises, but it is hard to keep the camera from freezing! The one thing that is not true to life here in NH is the yelling, especially the +JMJ+ part. That’s not a NH thing.
I remember as a child sometimes walking home from school about 1/2 a mile in snow in the winter, no matter what the temperature or weather girls had to wear skirts, and my legs and feet would be red by the time I got home, and they hurt as they warmed up. It toughens you up!
Thanks for the laugh! π

She’s also drinking Vernor’s? Definitely a Detroiter! And what’s with the “Southern” girl who doesn’t have a southern accent?

Rather difficult to get here today. Impossible to get next door. Some fool msg about site too busy or some such nonsense.
Cold, dreary, dark and drizzly here. DIL and Insalubrious GSon came back for a wedding today. Imagine they’ll be high-tailing it outta here as soon as the bouquet is thrown.
Hope everyone’s day goes well.

Yup, issues – again. It’ll clear up, eventually. Mornin’ Jeans!

Iβm totally good until 50, kinda pouty 40 and up, and I hate the world below 40. Here in SE Tennessee we donβt like to acknowledge freezing. Except the weather guys who sound a lot like the chick in the fur lined hood. Death and doom under 35.
A prolonged freezing spell means donβt leave your driveway except to go to the hospital. Someone will hit you. For sure.

Hope the wedding couple have a happy day despite the awful weather you describe.

Had to get new front tires Thursday. Set me back almost $200, but they were worn out.

Good to hear your car repairs were reasonable, and that you are now safe driving π

Mornin’ all! To all of us living there at the time, this was quite traumatic. 34 years – time flies, don’t it?? We actually had all-night-all-day coverage on tv (first that I can remember) and tv’s on at work waiting to get that baby out….

I do remember sitting in the living room in Miami, watching this. I’m always interested in short lived phenomena: events which will be over in a defined time. This child only had so much time before she would die there. What is so interesting is how resourceful people can be to solve such problems.

Mornin’ Menage. It was awhile before anybody realized it was getting more than local coverage. Side note – Momma said that happened a lot in the old days, old wells and what not, and usually did NOT have a happy ending.

Afternoon, WeeWeed! I remember that too.

Got up a little late, got ready for work, now sitting in Quest Lab waiting room for a blood draw for a routine lab test. Sunny, very windy and quite cool, which I will miss since I’ll be inside the hospital all day. Happy day to all!

This is absolutely hilarious. And duct tape healed some major childhood trauma in my boys, except once we were out and had to resort to electrical tape.
Thanks for sharing, I laughed and laughed. A lady at Publix the other day asked me if she could take my carriage. Gave me a smile.

It’s not a buggy OR a carriage – it’s a cart.

DH watches the videos at IaST. His father’s side of the family is from Mississippi. His father married a – gasp – northern Catholic girl – when he was in the navy and stationed up here!! Which was pointed out in the family history book they had printed up.

LOL. This is so true. Especially the part at the end where she steps out into the cold only to find that the sun is out and the temp has gone up 20 or 30 degrees.
