Good morning everyone. We had some really severe storms last night. Apparently more will come in this afternoon. I sure don’t miss having to worry about a tree coming down on the house like we used to. I’ve always kind of enjoyed a good storm, and now I can relax and savor the wildness.

Maybe one of my grandchildren shares the same appreciation. Last night we let him go out on the back porch and enjoy the aftermath of the storm. He stayed out alone for a long time, enjoying the overflowing pond draining into the normally little, placid stream.

I found an excellent meditation on Psalm 23. We have all heard it so much that we kind of tune it out, familiar, but not really thought about. This lady’s thoughts might give you a very new appreciation of and undermanning for what David meant, and a new way to pray with this Psalm. It’s really worth your time.

My son has always loved a good t-storm. When he was 9, he went to camp that summer in Upstate NY and there were terrible t-storms. He loved it. Many of the campers were really scared, but he wasn’t. Of course, I didn’t sleep a wink after I heard 4 people were killed up there in the woods..

Calm, sunny, very quiet here. Czar and I loved to watch storms , enjoy the lightning. Just like you, we made sure there were no trees to fall on the house, so we could marvel in their having fallen, after the storm passed.

Mornin’ Menage, Wee, and all. Sun’s out, humid, warm, etc. Today I have laundry to do and some housekeeping. But, first I have to cool off from our walk and then fix breakfast. Hope you all have a good day.

  5. Morning All 🙂
Here is a painting (I’ll be posting a few with warmer autumnal tones) by a painter you all have seemed to like in the past. This is ‘Cadmium Hills’ by Erin Hansen. She has a nice website erinhanson.com

Have to run – late for making lunch
Have a great day everyone! 😉

Nice. Dare you take a ride? Yesterday I went out into the country in Georgia, near where we used to live in the cabin. No color there yet, but it was a beautiful drive.

When the weather’s better we will start taking some evening drives just right up the mountain behind us. There’s a drive around the lake (it’s really a huge TVA reservoir they use to generate power). From there you have a fine view of much of the Tennessee River Canyon below, and all the mountains surrounding the Tennessee Valley. Soon it will be ablaze in color, and just maybe a five minute ride away.

I used to go for hikes up there. Now the drive has to do.

I’ll wait a bit to take a long drive! The guy at the collision shop was giving me a hard time (honestly) because I have such low mileage on a car that is 2-1/2 months old. I told him that I don’t work and that I just drive mostly to local destinations. None of his business anyway! I was nice (nicer than he was, buttinsky that he is.)

Well, good evening. We just had a t-storm come through. It lasted over an hour and a half. Some of the thunder was so loud Loki jumped up out of her sleep and attacked the sliding glass doors. Then she turned and looked at me as if to ask “what was that all about?” She usually isn’t too concerned with the thunder unless it is really loud. The rain was pounding on the front door and the back sliding glass doors. It usually only hits one or the other. Great storm. 🙂
