Mornin’ All. Clear, hot, and sunny here. I got bored yesterday and watched two disaster movies. Los Angeles got totally destroyed in both of them. LOL. The ball game didn’t start until 6:30 last night, so I recorded it and saved it for today. I don’t like watching them at night. So, I will watch it today. Hope you all have a nice day.

3 dead, 50 injured, many questions after Amtrak train derails in Montana

This is the Empire Builder that I took a few years ago to visit my brother and his wife.

Amtrak was joining with federal safety officials Sunday to investigate a Montana train derailment that left at least three people dead and rural communities scrambling to provide food and shelter to the stunned survivors.

The westbound Empire Builder train with 141 passengers and 16 crew members derailed Saturday afternoon near Joplin, a town of less than 200 people just a few miles from the Canadian border. The tragedy occurred as Amtrak was closing out its nationwide, annual Rail Safety Week.

Liberty County sheriff’s dispatcher Starr Tyler confirmed the deaths, saying there also were multiple injuries.

Amtrak spokesman Jason Abrams said eight of the train’s 10 cars toppled off the tracks, some of them sitting on their sides when the Seattle-bound train out of Chicago came to a halt.

“We are deeply saddened to learn local authorities are now confirming that three people have lost their lives as a result of this accident,” Abrams said in a statement. “We have a team on the ground to fully support the NTSB as they investigate the cause of the derailment.”

I really like riding the trains, so long as I have plenty of time to get somewhere. I look forward to a trip across Canada, and traveling in Europe again.

I remember how bumpy this road bed was across the Dakotas and Montana. I was in a roomette on my way east, and dreamed I was being beaten up. I woke and realized that I was being thrown about by the train’s violent movement.

I took Amtrak to visit my son and DIL when they lived in Norfolk, VA. I wasn’t in a sleeper so it was a rough trip. I always wanted to travel in the Orient Express. Ah, but that isn’y going to happen.

Not only do I like this man’s words, not the first of his videos I’ve watched, but I love his voice. I love my Irishmen, married one of their descendants, and I find the brogue utterly charming. But, oh, the Scottish accent gets me, and his is perfect.

Stella, awesome. At the very beginning of the video, as soon as I was looking down into the Tennessee Valley, I knew it was home! Before it ever said Chattanooga, I knew. You are looking down on the very area where our home is, quite close to the river.

I think we need to try the dome out, I may look into that for a weekend. And I’ve missed my hot tub so much since we left the cabin. I don’t think I could climb the steps to the treehouse, but I’m pretty sure I could get to the dome. And just enjoy that view all weekend.

I’m sending this to my DILs also. Thank you!

P.S. I wouldn’t mind a rainy weekend either. These mountains are often at their most beautiful in the rain, with fog pouring over them.

“Secretary Mayorkas also said the Biden Administration opposes a border wall because people crossing illegally is ‘one of our proudest traditions’.”

HUH? So what’s the reason we have laws against illegal entry into our nation?

Delusional and stupid besides being of a traitorous mindset, anti-law, anti-Constitution and anti-American.
