Seems no government agency does anything unless/until a “Friend” of that agency can benefit.

One of the big plusses about Covid is “breaking” or easing of RULES. When it was inconvenient, or contraindicated, many people in power loosened or just let go of what they previously said must be a certain way. I was talking to a doc I work with about several changes which have made for easier and better outcomes for patients, and staff. Of course, as stated bosses, regulators and those who must check safety need a look and a say in what can continue, but if people arise and demand sense and sensibility, things can come out well.
