I read somewhere not long ago that if WDC residents want to have voting representation in the House and Senate, then all governmental properties/access streets to same should remain under the Federal government jurisdiction and the rest of the land reverts to Maryland from whence it was derived. Lefties wouldn’t be interested in that, of course, because they wouldn’t gain anything. Thus it’s obvious that Congressional Dems/lefties don’t care about voting rights for citizens, only advantages for themselves.
Hawley Says Non-Partisan Legal Council Has Consistently Said Amendment Is Needed To Make DC A State
June 27, 2021 – Forbes Breaking News
On Tuesday, Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) spoke during a Senate Homeland Security Committee hearing about why he believes Washington DC can only be made a state through a Constitutional amendment.

Mornin’ Lucille, and everybody who shows up later. Sunny, humid, etc. Loki tried to get me up at 6:30 this morning. I held off until 6:45. She did just fine on her walk, but wasn’t interested in her food and is acting funny again. I wish she could talk. She kept coming over to me yesterday and just staring at me. I tried everything, but she just kept doing it. I keep wondering if she is lonely for another doggie. I would get one, but I don’t know how I would handle it financially.

Hit the wrong key. Hope everyone has a beautiful day. If you have yucky weather, look at Lucille’s pictures. 🙂

Good morning, aus! We’re at 90 degrees right now and it’s only 10:20. Going to 106. As your news may have noted, almost the entire Great Northwest is under excessive heat warnings through Sunday at least. I’ve read the explanation but don’t really know what it is about. Been praying for those without air conditioning and for wild animals and domesticated pets left outside. I take my trash out and get the mail after 10:00 so I don’t suffocate.
Dear little Loki is trying to tell you something. Trying to discern what it could be is, of course, impossible unless she shows physical symptoms. Just keep track of how much water she drinks and whether there’s anything amiss in her stools. Yes, she might like to have a pal, but that’s a lifelong commitment. And one pet is a lot to handle.
Just keep on keeping on.

Trash and mail after 10:00 at night, obviously! LOL!
If it’s going to be hot, I’d rather be in Bora Bora…

Visited Bora Bora in August of 1978. Very primitive then. The day before my arrival, they electrified the island; before that, everything was individually powered. At that time everything was on the western side of the island. I stayed at Club Med (16 staff, 40 guests) for a week. Then in 1982, a typhoon swept in and destroyed everything on the western edge of the lagoon; waves of 40′ were reportedly rolling across the lagoon and washing up on shore. Now apparently, everything is built on the eastern side of the island.

Well, as far as her not eating when we come back from our walk, she may be like me. I have to cool down and rest a little before I am hungry.

Good day to you, WeeWeed! Love amethysts. These from Rwanda are truly exquisite…incredible color. Bookmarked the website for a lengthy perusal later. In the sidebar there was a vid of amethyst miners in South Carolina which looked interesting; so I’ll watch it later, too.
In the 80s a friend and I went to an auction for a number of companies which sold rough and cut semi-precious stones plus jewelry and jewelry boxes, etc. We bought items for gifts and one or two things for ourselves.
For one close friend I purchased a small bag of about 20 cut amethysts and put them in a crystal lidded box as a gift for her birthday. She really loved it.
Here’s a simple cabochon amethyst ring from 1900 late Victorian style which can be worn no matter how you’re dressed…sigh…in a heartbeat….

My friend would love the amethysts in the crystal lidded box or the ring. She loves jewelry and stones.

The original idea for the Olympics is dead anyway. I haven’t watched either the Summer or the Winter on TV for many years and only view certain skaters on YouTube for the Winter Olympics. It used to be great fun to attend viewing parties or barbecues where we’d cheer on our U.S. teams, especially if some guests knew one or two of the participants. Nowadays the coaches are as whiny/woke as the players and the fun is drained right out of any of it.

What a little bitch. I hope they don’t allow her to go next time.

If you hate the country that much then don’t play for them. You represent your country and we deserve better. I’m sick of this crap. I believe, and sincerely hope, these people finally see they have not set back race relations, but ruined them.

Next time?, drag her ass home now and cancel any endorsement deals she might have already signed. Maybe she can promote North Korean cereal.

If you get a minute, watch this video starting at about 4:00 and up to about 12:00. Best rant I’ve listened to in a long time about people who say “I can’t”. Negative naysayers addressed!

My husband never allowed our sons to use the word when they were talking to him about their struggles. It started gentle with them as very young children and grew as they aged. By the time they were ten or so they understood there might be more consequences for using that word than not doing something hard that he had given them to do.

P.S. Yes! I love this guy and he absolutely nails the choices we make. The amputee story and unsubscribe got me. I’m watching his stuff for sure!

I went to Girl in the Woods to see the finished cabin. I’m trying to subscribe, but for years I’ve had google trouble with YouTube. It won’t take my real email for some reason and I cannot get it to reset the stupid google email address I tried for it years ago. I’ve been fighting this battle a long time.
Anyhow, I highly recommend her channel. She’s good.

I first watched them work on their UP Michigan property – drilling a sand point well, building an outhouse etc. Now I’m watching them build a log home in Alaska.
