“There is another class of coloured people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs — partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs.” ― Booker T. Washington

“The white people held my people in slavery here in America. They had bought us, it is true, and exploited us. But the inescapable fact that stuck in my craw was: my people had sold me…. My own people had exterminated whole nations and torn families apart for a profit before the strangers got their chance at a cut. It was a sobering thought. It impressed upon me the universal nature of greed and glory….Zora Neale Hurston

Greed isn’t considered one of the seven deadly sins for nothing. It is the motivation which underlies many a crime and works hand-in-hand with the Father of Lies.

Good morning everyone. Halfway through the week, and we have a rainy couple of days here. High will only barely top 80 today, which is a good thing.

We went to my 12 year old grandson’s birthday dinner last night. He chose an American flag birthday cake, no birthday greetings to mar it, just a beautifully done cake. Cheered me up that it was his choice. He ran for and was elected class president for the upcoming year. Maybe someday he will be one of the young people who are fixing things for the future.

Of course, he has parents who are not only patriots, but who are making sure he knows his government inside and out. I like to think the pendulum is swinging again toward liberty when I see parents who are waking up to the school mess. I read an article by Dennis Prager yesterday about the number one thing people can do to save the country. Take your kids out of public schools, he says.

I agree, but I also get angry at all those who insist everyone can homeschool. No, they can’t and you and I do not have the right to shame them for it. Some are simply locked in on jobs that utilize schools as day care, and they have no money at all to change that. I know some good parents who could never in a million years teach. And I know some kids, my two autistic grandsons for example, who really need a school environment.

Nevertheless, I sure would love to see so many leave public schools that the broken system fails.

I don’t think that everyone can home school, and I never like it when others shame anybody for anything! I do think, though, that some could home school when they believe they can’t, at least in the early grades. If you think about it, most of us taught or helped to teach our children to read, write and learn their numbers. There are also good home school co-op groups now, and excellent curriculum available for sale.

I had to work to support us when my daughter was small, but I did put her in private (Baptist) school for pre-school and grades K through 7. I wish I had kept her in private for the rest!

Menagerie, this is a great article about parents making every effort to take back their schools….

Virginia District Hears Parents Loudoun Clear
      June 9, 2021 – by Tony Perkins

One thing was for sure: they didn’t come to be quiet. The parents of Loudoun County, Virginia who were packed into every available chair at Tuesday’s school board meeting were angry. For months, they’d been warring with the district over its woke curriculum in a feud so bitter that it made the national news. But it was the suspension of Tanner Cross, a P.E. teacher who spoke out about a new transgender policy, that turned the local temperature from hot to boiling.

Mornin’ All. Yucky hot here as it will be until about November. My friend is already talking about cruising. I told her I wouldn’t even consider it until next year. Hopefully by then they will have all the vaccine kinks smoothed out for the cruises. Besides, I have spent too much money and need to save up for it. Later Gator.

This is pathetic! Is President Jill Biden going to give Putin the what-for instead of the Demented One during their meeting in Europe? Looks like she’s in charge.

As you likely remember from your history books, the Democrats have had a wife take over before when hubby President Wilson was incapacitated. Yes, Edith Wilson actually did that. It’s a Dem thing.

Is it normal for both the President and the Vice President to be out of the country at the same time? Who is running the country?
