    • Now the question is – do cats and owls get along?

I’m going to give you a serious answer, although I don’t know if it’s true or not.

My guess is that a cat that has been trained to hunt by its mother will NOT be a friend to the owl, but if a cat hasn’t been trained to hunt, it might.

        • Yes, I thought a feral cat would put up a good fight, but a house cat would be lunch for one of the larger types of owls.

Hopefully this kitty knows which one he is. 😉

Years ago, when my cat had kittens, I watched her show them how to kill a mouse. We had a full-length screen door and the kittens were in the kitchen. The cat brought the mouse up to the door, called the kittens, then showed them how the deed was done.

Another anecdote: When I was first married, we adopted a cat. We had a mouse in our apartment, which the cat caught, but didn’t kill it. She played with the mouse!

A cat that is trained to hunt will kill whether they are well fed or not. The mother cat I mentioned in my other comment was fed very well, but was always bringing me “presents” (dead birds usually) and leaving them on the backdoor mat.

Interesting, too, I’ve found eating prey is also learned. We’ve had 2 bottle-raised cats that would catch but not eat until – after sometimes many months – they accidently bit down enough to taste blood. From then on…
I read once that ‘mouse’ is the perfect food for cats: protein, fat, fiber and bones for healthy teeth and gums. Thought it would be an interesting business enterprise (but only briefly).

  5. So now that I’m back up on my feet, I’m trying like crazy to get this house ready to possibly sell 😦 Grrrr and grit teeth!

We have one of the ugliest bathrooms there is from a cosmetic standpoint ie: pink sponged walls, blue toilet tub & shower, with different shades of aqua on 2 sinks, cream floor, and lots of Hollywood lights.

I was thinking of to how to redo this disaster, and this photo has a long, 2 sink vanity like mine. What do you think? It would get rid of the Hollywood lights & the colors are neutral. Wink 😉 wink;-)

Have a great Caturday everyone! 🙂
