Stella, as always, love the picture. When we lived in the cabin the back porch was elevated as the cabin was built into a steep hill. So many times I sat on it in the midst of a fog and wondered at the quiet woods all around me.
I painted my bedroom in a blue-gray faux finish inspired by the fog and it remains one of my favorite finishes ever. I never changed it in all the years we lived in the cabin.

Afternoon Stella. Nasty weather here still, bad storms are coming our way tonight and tomorrow morning. I might just have to cancel an appointment tomorrow. I’m not getting out in this crap if I don’t have to.

Sounds lovely and soothing. Want to come paint my bedroom.

I love painting czarina, and hope to be able to go back to when the foot heals more. Then you just name the day!

The blue-gray finish sounds lovely and calming. When you recreate it in your new home, you might need a mink-like blue gray fur throw for the lounge chair to add to the dreamy quality…

Good morning, WeeWeed! If “reporters” had any guts, they would ALL refuse to send in their questions for approval. Seeing as leftie media folk are in business to make their fav dementia patient look good, we’ll get kiss-up questions galore, for which the answers will have been written by his socialist handlers.

Mornin’ All. Sun’s out and the waves are still rolling in. However, it appears that the mosquitoes have moved in. We were keeping the door open but saw a giant mosquito this morning. Now I know where that bump on my face came from. Well, we have an owners’ meeting to go to this morning. Sounds like a lot of fun, huh?! Later, Gators. Hope those storms go around you. Stay safe.

Well, the one headed to us last night between 10:30 and 1:00 left zero rain. Today is very windy, grey, and damp. Promise is storms, some with tornadoes, today after 6:00. Hope the concrete plantation house with the steel roof and hurricane clips is up to whatever comes thru, if it does.

Stay safe czarina, we are getting the bad weather too.

Good morning to you, aus! Mosquitos only redeeming virtue is that they are part of the food chain for birds and fish. So I really do wish they would leave us humans alone. Maybe our blood tastes particularly good.
Hope they had snacks at the owners’ meeting to make it worthwhile.

All they had was coffee. But, it was a good meeting and we found out a lot. They have been working on updating all the rooms for years and having trouble getting it done because they get started, a hurricane hits and they have to fix whatever gets damaged first. We got to see her original room and it has been fixed up somewhat. We are next door now in a halfway redecorated room that we really like. When I say half-way, I mean it was updated previously but still is old fashioned.

The real problem is that we are part of the food chain for mosquitos.

That was fun, Stella. Thanks! Numbers 7, 24 and 37 I’ve been guilty of. I doubt I’ve ever used “espresso” in a written sentence, though.
Number 28 is a particular annoyance of mine. The author sort of copped out, however. “He” is always correct when speaking of an individual in general. Using “she” or “their” as a generic pronoun came about in the late 60s-early 70s when feminists demanded that the patriarchy not be favored in sentence structure.
One mistake the author doesn’t list is the overuse of the exclamation point. Every time I use it–every blessed time–I think about a teacher of mine who said exclamation points should be used sparingly. LOL!

My pet peeve is the phrase “close proximity”. It is redundant.

How do you like, “Commence to begin?” My grandparents used to say that all the time.

I shall immediately drop the word “forte” from my vocabulary. I never knew how to correctly pronounce it, apparently. My problem has never been getting the spelling correct on these words and phrases, since I learned most from reading, but pronouncing them. And I have had no experience with any French words, so they are my worst! Looked it up on Dictionary, and apparently it would be le fort pronounced without the “t” in French. Oh well.

And, here I thought I was so clever pronouncing it for-ta, with a long a.

I don’t it is that embarrassing at all. Most people don’t know this either, so bot the speaker and listener, have no idea.
Everybody is supposed to commit a dozen felonies every day. Why aren’t we arrested, because don’t know that law either.

Good one, Stevie! Have a productive day at work.
There are times I miss my working years, especially the office camaraderie…and the work was usually interesting and never boring. But I certainly don’t miss having to get up early or an awful commute…those rest blessedly in my past.

With tears I share this….I was at Bass Pro today and heard a loud crash and something shattering. Being nosy, I walked towards the sound and saw some people whispering and looking back to the end of the next aisle. When I walked down that aisle, I saw that an elderly man had hit a shelf and many things had fallen to the ground and broken. He was kneeling on the floor embarrassed, frantically trying to clean up. I felt so bad for him. Every one was just standing there staring at him. So I went and knelt beside him and told him not to worry and started helping him pick up the broken pieces. After about a minute, the store manager came and knelt beside us and said, “Leave it, we will clean this up.” The man, totally embarrassed said, “I need to pay for all this.” The manager smiled, helped him to his feet and said, “No sir, we have insurance for this, you do not have to pay anything!” If you have read this far, give me another minute.
Wherever you are, close your eyes, and imagine God doing the same for you! Imagine the broken pieces of your mistakes or the pieces of your broken heart from all the blows life has thrown at you all over the floor, and you’re there trying to collect all of the pieces and fix them yourself. Now imagine God comes and kneels right down beside you, smiles and says to you, “Leave it all there, I will clean this up for you.”
He loves you that much and wants to put all of those pieces back together if you will let Him! With Him we have this insurance, and It’s free! All you have to do is ask Him to save you to forgive you, help you, and to heal you. He’s faithful, I promise! 📷 He did it for me! He will do it for you!
Please copy, paste, and share this like I did. Someone somewhere needs to hear it. ❤️
There we go!

Found this in a column called Dear Annie:
Do you want to fast this Lent?
Fast from saying hurting words and say kind words.
Fast from sadness and be filled with gratitude.
Fast from anger and be filled with patience.
Fast from pessimism and be filled with hope.
Fast from worries and have trust in God.
Fast from complaints and contemplate simplicity.
Fast from pressures and be prayerful.
Fast from bitterness and fill your heart with joy.
Fast from selfishness and be compassionate to others.
Fast from grudges and be reconciled.
Fast from words and be silent so you can listen.

From the good folks at American Greatness.
FTA – “Right now, we are 80 million couch potatoes and keyboard warriors with rifles in our bedroom closets. This is not a force to be reckoned with.”
But………..we’ve got to be smart. The gist of this is…..go local. On many fronts.

I don’t have any rifles in my closets, I’ve always kept them under my bed. Our closets have always been small and too easy to be seen.
I agree with the “Be Smart” part.
I do not believe Trump supporters were responsible for Jan 6, but it cost us dearly. We cannot take to the streets first. Do that and we will be caught between law enforcement and the Leftist thugs.
