Happy Fence Friday!
Paramount Ranch is part of the National Park Service, Calabasas, Santa Monica Mountains, CA. This photo is of Western Town, a motion picture set used in many feature films and TV shows.
“This lone tree in the field behind my house makes a great subject to photograph any time of the year. A blanket of snow that fell in mid-December added to the texture of the scenery.” – Steve Edwards, Holden, Missouri
“Winter in Kentucky: When we get these beautiful wet snows that stick to everything, I cannot stay inside in the warmth of the house. I must get bundled up and go walking with camera in hand to capture all the beauty around me. The sun was shining bright after a night of beautiful falling snow and the sky was so blue—an awesome combination.” – Juanita Jones, Lawrenceburg, Kentucky

Thank you Lucille – those are beautiful…and nostalgic. The Paramount Ranch was near where I grew up and was destroyed in the 2018 Woolsey Fire. Here’s a link about its restoration:
https://www.samofund.org/paramount-project
There was another old western town movie set just over the hill from us that had been used in early Gunsmoke episodes but replaced by Corriganville. I rode my horse through ‘town’ (’bout a half hour ride from home) one day, and a guy in a jeep with a rifle yelled from the next ridge over that it was private property and get out. I waved and rode off, but he intercepted me at the road and apologized for being so terse. Said a lot of kids would go there and do mischief so he had been hired to patrol it. We had a nice chat and I rode home. I’ve always felt an affinity for the old west…maybe a recycled spirit from back then.

Thanks for the update on the ranch, weather…and the fun horse-riding story. Friends of mine had a horse ranch in the Santa Monica Mountains at one time. But horses are a very expensive hobby and they eventually sold them off and started having kids instead. LOL!

Mornin’ Mom! Hmmm is right! Earlier reports said she got shot in the neck! 🙄 This is a very puzzling situation!
LikeLiked by 2 people
They probably had to change it because there wasn’t enough “blood” squirting out for it to have been her neck. And, what was that big wide belt around her waist with the little tube looking thing going up to her boobs?

If her family has lawyers, she is dead, and they have her autopsy report. What was reported at the time is wrong. That is common in news reports.

Hi Mom,
You know this rule of journalism: “If it bleeds, it sells”.
Even though it turns out to be wrong, so what, they sold tens of thousands of papers, they also get high viewer ratings for one, maybe two days.

Good morning, WeeWeed! The thing with present-day U.S. Marxists is that they think they’ll be the ones telling others what to do and how to do it.
Surprise! The elite have already taken all those positions. You? Why you don’t get nuthin’ but an order to stand in the front lines and fight for them to get rich. What price have the Maduros, Maos, Ortegas, Castros, Stalins ever paid? A couple of uncomfortable nights until they convinced others to die for them means zip.

Mornin’ All. Sunny and cool here. It was down to 50* this morning but beautiful outside.
It seems that Pelosi is running things. That should scare everyone, even Heel-Up. She might take a header in the shower or shoot herself in the head twice while she is asleep. Pelosi seems to be totally out of control. A really dangerous situation. I heard last night that there are people over 70 years old being held in jail because they were at the rally on Jan. 6. It has been two months and they have not been given bail. I believe I heard that they weren’t even in the Capitol.

I feed Tucker grain-free Merrick (not for small breeds, obviously.) He loves it. It’s not cheap though.

I will check on it. I picked out one I thought looked interesting, Canidae, and then I read the reviews and there were a lot of negative reviews about the dogs who ate it having gas. LOL. Think I will pass on that. The other complaint was that it was very powdery.

I used to feed Canidae, but switched to Merrick.

Morning all. Going to be a busy day. Three grandsons, age seven and under, come to spend the night. The youngest two their fathers referred to as half of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. I’m not sure whether to fortify myself with vitamins or Jack. Maybe both?
I want the cousins to have relationships. I guess that starts here, within our home. But still…I’m not sure I’ll be here tomorrow. 😀😀😀

I believe that corporations have the right to make whatever regulations they deem correct for them, their customers and their employees. We all can decide whether or not we want to patronize their businesses.
In the case of GM, their rules appear to pertain to their employees.

I always wondered what czarowniczy meant (or stood for). If he ever explained it, I missed it.

Polish for magician or sorcerer. But in the abbreviation, Czar, I always thought of Russian royalty. Thus, his son could usethe Russian diminutive. And everyone who meets him is slightly confused because he looks, moves and even talks like Czar. Just 30 years younger.

Report finds charter schools don’t drain money from district schools
Written by Catrin Wigfall on March 01, 2021
Critics of charter schools often state that these schools hurt traditional school districts by “draining” and “funneling” money and resources away from them. But do they?

I just watched The Sin of Nora Moran. It was made in 1933 and is a little over an hour long. I was surprised at how good it was, and I thought, well acted. If you enjoy old movies like that, I would recommend it. I think you would find it very interesting. A very good twisting story.

Rand Paul Forces Democrats to Remove Provision Funding Planned Parenthood From COVID Bill
By STEVEN ERTELT March 5, 2021 | 4:46PM WASHINGTON, DC
“Democrats knew this was never about COVID relief or helping small businesses,” said Dr. Paul. “It was a shameless attempt to fund their radical agenda on the taxpayers’ backs and I was successful in preventing that from happening by stopping these funds from going to abortion mills.”

OMG. I am watching Star Trek the Next Generation, Symbiosis, about a disease/plague that everyone on one world has and another world produces and sells to that one a medicine/narcotic to treat/feed the first world’s inhabitants’ addiction that they call a plague. So, there is no plague, just an addiction. And, the supporting world has only one product, kinda like the Afghans, and that is the narcotic.
