Kiss your felines for Bee and Gee (my kitties)!

It’s always so refreshing to see Caturday and Doggityday. It’s nice to have a bit of calm in the current madness. In that vein, I’d like to share how the second kitty came to reside in our home. Some of you may remember my original Caturday post about our first rescue, Jack. He’s our one-eyed blind boy that is just about the most loving and charming soul in the world.
I was so thankful to have Jack in our family. Life felt balanced with his addition to our home. We live on a number of acres in farm country.
My previously cat adverse husband dotes on Jack. He says that he’s very dog-like; that he follows him around and likes attention. My hubby even pets him like a dog and Jack obligingly rolls on his back and raises his leg for a belly rub. It still amazes him that he can pet a cat’s tummy without being mangled.
It was early in the morning, my hubby always go out with our pup for a bit of a drive (her favorite) and a good cup of coffee. I was enjoying a nice cozy snuggle with Jack and the newly put on comforter for the cooler October temperatures. I awoke to my dear husband coming quickly into the bedroom saying, we’ve got a problem. That snapped me out of lounging as my mind raced with all kinds of crises; fire, caved in roof, explosion, injured dog, injured husband, and so forth. Side note, it’s shocking how many disasters you can envision in less than 2 seconds.
As I tried to clear my eyes and focus, I was checking his limbs for blood when I saw a tiny fluff of white fur tucked up against his neck. He’d found another kitty.
We have our business on the property and often we will drive a vehicle over to be there for a while. It’s not uncommon for all kinds of critters to crawl up into the warm engine area.
After his coffee, he stopped to check out the business. All was well so he started to drive to the house. He started hearing a terrible sound coming from the engine area. He thought, at first, maybe a belt was going as the shrieking was intense. He stopped as quickly as he could, opened up the hood and there, tucked near the interior end of the motor was a wee kitten.
Our lovely little Lily is a medium haired Calico. She’s similar to the third pic Lucille shared but with longer hair and symmetrical face markings. She’s such a beautiful little girl. I’m still in awe that this little beauty found us. She’s so pretty, she’d be the first kitten picked from a shelter or pet store.
Poor thing was only 10 weeks old, we think, when she sought the warmth of the engine compartment. She was only a pound and two ounces at her first vet visit. When I took her in to the vet (she’s blessedly healthy), they seemed to be taking forever with her. When I finally got the call, we do the parking lot drop off with Wuflu, I was told that it took them ages to get her to stop purring and then everyone wanted a chance to hold and snuggle with her. That visit was easily twice as long as any other, lol.
Thankfully, Jack and Kiwi accepted her absolutely. Jack makes a wonderful big brother to her. She’s spunky, sassy, infinitely playful and purr machine. I’m amazed at how well she and Jack can play. He hears or smells where she is and they tussle and chase like the best friends they are. Then they crash together and groom each other.
Life is good.

Thank you! My husband it traveling right now and I was just texting him about how wonderful all the four-loggers are. Amazing how much love you receive when you open your heart to them.

Btw, we checked all around for other kitties but never found any. The food we always put out was gone but we know that raccoons and possum like it too. I just hope some gets to any kitties in the area.
