Iran rattles its sabers …

In anticipation of a Biden administration, things are once again heating up in Iran and Iraq. Since I wouldn’t want to be accused of spreading unfounded stories, even conspiracy theories, I’ll just quote other news sources this morning.

CNN

The US and Iran charged each other with ratcheting up tensions in the Persian Gulf as concerns about potential conflict build days before Iran marks one year since the US assassinated its most powerful military figure and less than three weeks before President-elect Joe Biden takes office.

Iran appealed to the UN Security Council on Thursday to stop the US from conducting what it called heightened “military adventurism” in the Gulf and the Oman Sea, including dispatching nuclear-capable bombers to the region, declaring that it did not want conflict but would defend itself if necessary.

Meanwhile, a US official with direct knowledge of the latest intelligence told CNN Friday that some Iranian maritime forces in the Gulf ramped up their readiness levels in the last 48 hours. Earlier this week, defense officials told CNN new intelligence showed Iran has been moving short range ballistic missiles into Iraq.

The Hill

Iran on Saturday announced that it intends to enrich its uranium to up to 20 percent at its Fordow facility amid heightening tensions with the U.S. in the waning days of the Trump administration.

Iranian state television confirmed that Ali Akbar Salehi, the head of the civilian Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, has sent a letter to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) informing it of Tehran’s decision to enrich its uranium just a short step away from weapons-grade levels.

The IAEA also confirmed to The Hill that it had received the letter and maintained that it would keep a close eye on any developments at the underground Fordow facility.

Could it be any more obvious that Iran and other countries expect Obama Foreign Policy 2.0 including pallets of billions from Obama minion Biden. Personally, I’m not sure the Biden administration is not just returning control to Obama.

You can call that an unfounded story. I’m calling it my opinion, which I feel free to express, since I am more than happy to engage in discussion of it, as well as other opinions. I thought that was how we learned things and actually formed well thought out opinions.

The second sentence of this post is one of the finest examples of caustic humor (aka Trumpism) ever written, capable of being written only by one of the very best Non-Essential Chump Deplorables. Standing O for this one.

Things have changed – permanently – in the Middle East. Iran’s old tricks no longer work like they did before, although there is no doubt they will work well with Team Obama 2.0.
There is no doubt Iran anticipates a return to Obama diplomacy. Heck, John Kerry very well may have put them up to this.

But Israel is not alone this time around. Although there is no peace agreement, Saudi Arabia is working with Israel on the military side at least, which complicates a whole bunch of things, like the CCP and Putin, not to mention Erdogan.

The LCPR had a good vid on this very subject last month. Pres Trump is not alone in his planning either, and indeed has not been alone all along.
My money’s on Orange Man Bad.

” London Center for Policy Research President Lt. Col. (Ret.)Tony Shaffer and Distinguished Fellow Navy Captain (Ret.) Pete O’Brien discuss how the Trump Administration’s approach to Middle Eastern diplomacy has led to improved peace efforts, relatively limited military engagement and groundwork for the future.”

“They also discuss why the media has been downplaying the recent successes in US-Israeli-Arab relations. In addition, Tony and Pete look at where past political leaders went wrong versus the Trump Doctrine and why.”

    1. January 3, 2021 is the 1 year anniversary of the US killing of Iranian terrorist Soleimani.
Apparently the mullahs are moving all their militias back into Iran. The country is on a full-scale military posture. In recent days, it has been revealed that CCP agents were paying for the deaths of US soldiers in Afghanistan (and elsewhere). Remember, Iran and China agreed to a covert 25 year strategic partnership in 2020 – just 3 months ago.

    2. Iran & Afghanistan share a border.
I suspect the mullahs are likely involved in what China has been doing. The mullahs are alleging (lying) that the US is about to attack them. This is highly provocative. It would be extremely foolish of the mullahs to attack the United States, let alone China. America is light years ahead of both nations in military terms. Such an act would result in consequences that neither Xi or the mullahs can possibly imagine.

    3. I have no doubt that China stole quite a lot of US military secrets during the incompetent & corrupt Obama Presidency. However there are some ultra-secret projects even they can’t get their claws on, such as the DARPA Advanced Weapon Program. These weapons are DECADES ahead of rival nation states. The US doesn’t use them unless there is a need to. Their deterrence power is strong enough.

    4. POTUS Trump isn’t a narcissist lightweight like Obama.
Nor is he a corrupt and demented traitor, such as China Joe. When POTUS Trump threatens the mullahs as he does, he means it. And he knows exactly what the US has at its disposal. The mullahs, as well as all America’s enemies, better not screw around with Trump. They will regret it BIGLY.

The Iran – Communist China Partnership reminds me of the Stalin – Hitler Treaty, either of the two assholes will break the agreement when convenient.
My guess is that when push comes to shove, the ChiComs will decide to it out and follow Mao’ WWII strategy. Mao knew the US & UK would defeat Japan, so they saved their resources for the real battle, the Nationalist Chinese.
China will sit out the war between the West and Islam and then take on the winner.
