“Laughter is the best medicine” – Origin, Meaning, Explanation and Importance
On July 29, 2016 By LightHouse
Introduction. The phrase ‘laughter is the best medicine’ refers to the notion that thinking positively and laughing will help you to feel better. That might mean feeling better about something that was making you upset. Or, as some studies have suggested, it might be the case that laughter and positive thinking can help people to heal from illnesses.

Oh, lovely, little monsters running around.
Afternoon Wee. I got my booze ready. Actually, I went out with my son for breakfast at a diner downtown. Four young guys came in and sat in the booth next to us. Their first question was what time alcohol could be served. Sad answer was 8 AM.
I think I would like to just start drinking with those guys.

Well, then we have to come up with some good recipes and convince people they are good to eat. I bet Czar could do that and New Orleans would be a good place to start.

Good morning, aus! It’s already 2021 in American Samoa….
Have a terrific New Year’s Eve. I’ll be watching old movies and listening to holiday music…maybe in Samoa!

Has a volcano erupted yet?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Just checked and “no” but Samoa does have a volcano, Mt. Matavanu, on the island of Savai’i that last erupted between 1905 and 1911…sooooo, maybe it’s due?
You can check out the presently erupting Kilauea in the Hawaiian Islands here: https://www.usgs.gov/volcanoes/kilauea/webcams

Very cool! Have to try that! I’ve thrown a cup of hot coffee in the air at 30 below and watched it vaporize before hitting the ground. Never thought about freezing a bubble though.

You know, I think there is more to this “defund the police” than just what it sounds like. I have heard suggestions across the country about private police. If that was done, they would not be going by the laws. And, of course, there is always the UN thugs.

Thank you for allowing me to visit, a wonderful site with wonderful people commenting on it.

So I think ‘ 21 is going to be a good year…

Here is a yummy cake for tonight. I think of it as wintergreen not peppermint though .It reminds me of those pink wintergreen patties covered in dark chocolate. I guess they don’t make them anymore. Luv wintergreen.
What we had as part of our new year’s celebration was that i would make “layered drinks”. People were fascinated by them. It took a while to make each one, thereby reducing guzzling too much booze all at once, but people never minded. I think they were all waiting for me to mix them up by mistake! 😉
This an Irish Flag
and this is a Butterball:

Reminds me of an old professor who liked to teach trivial stuff mixed in with the approved material.
One day he told us” if you ever want to drive a bartender nuts, order a ‘pousse-cafe’.”
eleven liquers all carefully poured according to their specific gravities, for the layered effect. I never had the funds to try it
Thanks GandC. Happy new year.

Happy New Year Mike! 🙂
That was a good teacher if you remember from years ago!
Here is one that is close to 11 layers. I don’t think I made any past 4 layers, also because of the cost of that many different types of liquor.
Have a good one! 🙂

I had an early dinner tonight and, believe it or not, I had the last bit of my Christmas rib roast along with baked potato w/sour cream and broccoli. It was delicious! I think I will take out a pound of shrimp from the freezer for scampi with linguine for tomorrow’s dinner.

Something weird is going on, I tell ya. It’s kinda like the whole “when H*ll freezes over” thing. The last time we saw wintery precipitation was 2007. We have a couple inches of snow in Central Texas here at Rancho el Gordito, so I’m thinking good thoughts for our Commander-In-Chief for 2021, because I don’t know how much weirder it could get after 2020. Happy New Year, and blessings to all y’all.
