    Well, they’re telling us it’s shifted west again, we’re closer to the core but not expecting hurricane force winds, just stronger tropical storm fore winds. They’ve also moved up the landfall and ‘out of here’ times and predict wonderful weather for the cleanup and repair efforts. We’ll see…

      Thank Heaven that there’s a cold front behind this hurricane as our AC’s on the fritz. We’ve been working…only us, they haven’t been doing much…with an unnamed American company that’s supposed to shield our home.

      Y’all remember the oven debacle when this same company kept us on a wire for months over the holidays while they dawdled? Well they’re back at it again, I don’t know what’s happened, we’ve had them for over 30 years, but suddenly they’re more of a problem than the broken appliance. Czarina’s on the phone right now with their offshore Pacific answering (blow you off) service while corporate’s just a skosh above us, testing the borders of her patience.

      Looks like we’ll end our relationship with them, the little things they do we could get done with what the co-pay on the visit alone is and what we pay in a year could replace almost any appliance we have – and we wouldn’t have the irritation of arguing the fine points and definitions in their contract they use to wriggle out of doing anything. What a waste.

        If you are talking about AHS, I hate them. We decided to ditch the coverage after selling the cabin. Kept it there because of the well pump. Right before we sold the house they screwed us over in a major way.

          This company screwed us over on the range, their POC telling us the part was backordered only to find out a few months later the wrong part was ordered.. Then when the supposedly correct part was ordered…it was on backorder.
          After about 5 months I contacted GE who said there was a bulletin out telling service providers that the range was out of manufacture and spare parts were no longer available. When I talked to a rep at the new GE Appliances corp Hq they felt so bad about how we’d been jerked around they sent us, free, a new set of the next generation convection stack ovens and installed them.

    Morning all, rain has hit here, supposed to get 2-4 inches which could be as much as 6, which I take to mean they don’t know. North Georgia getting his more. Thinking of you JTR, and hope you come through okay.

      I tried on my waders, but my swollen feet won’t fit! I just keep praying for the best. It’s already started raining, and this thing isn’t even supposed to go through until tomorrow.

    Since the newest WP updates I cannot see any pictures people post. I cleared my cookies and turned the iPad off to reset.

    I have had so many weird things happening. Sometimes Stella’s Gen. Disc. doesn’t show up on my reader. Then, sometime later I notice it is there. I thought I was losing my mind, but, since, have decided it is THEM, not ME.

    Mornin’ everyone. Prayers for anyone in the path of this storm. Hopefully it will be the last of the season.

    I think it was so nice of the people from outside the community of Philadelphia to help that Walmart get rid of some of their goods so they wouldn’t have to inventory it. I’m sure Walmart appreciates their help. /s

    My Dad is only slightly improved if any. He still needs a 50 litres of 55% oxygen a day,. Spirits are good.

    Hm. I may have a problem. I had what I figured was a spider bite on my leg months ago. It really got pink and took a long time to heal, but never actually healed completely. It left a little knot with some red around it. I finally was able to get into the dermatologist office and they took a biopsy. Well, now it looks like it might be getting infected. :(. I guess that means a trip to either the derm. office or Urgent Care in the morning. The real problem is I may still be allergic to penicillin and am definitely allergic to what they give you in place of the penicillin. Oh, I prefer mixed flowers over roses on my casket. 🙄

      I put goldenseal powder on skin breaks. Looks nasty but works great. Infection free in hours.

        Thanks. I had forgottend about that. Have to get some. I don’t do well on antibiotics so I need to stop the infection before it gets worse. It already looks better this morning after I soaked it in epsom salts last night. But I will get the goldenseal powder.
