That was pretty cool to see it splash down. I’m glad it went so well.

All this was put on hold while Bush and Obama worked to globalize and destroy the U.S.

Years ago I worked at a NASA facility (wasn’t NASA) where the space shuttle center tank was made. I asked one of the NASA guys why they didn’t show live returns of space craft and was told that NASA was averse to bad publicity and feared televising a disaster. Neat to see that SpaceX is that sure of their product and QC that they have no 2nd thoughts about televising a return in real time.

Michoud Assembly. Thiokol built the solid rocket boosters of Challenger infamy. Strangely enough I left a military job in Utah that had unit member who worked at Thiokol assembling the motors to go and work at a place that built the tanks.

I did get to go to the destruction of a booster motor section that had to be blown as it had a crack in the grain. The blast was heard about 40 miles away, they’re that powerful.

Morton Thiokol was a customer of ours in the 80’s. We had a few government contractor customers about that time. We built (they still do) inspection equipment for high volume manufacturing lines.
