Good News!! (& happy stories), July 23, 2020

Why I’m happy to be in the north in the summer.

Wish mine got along this well.

Whatever works, I guess.

I feel cool just looking at this.

Great idea!

The Bee strikes again! Did you see the reports that the mayor of Portland was attacked by the Antifa “protesters”? And the Oakland, CA mayor had her home vandalized by them? Appeasing the animals just means they eat you last.

Another cooling seascape.

Probably true.

Yes they do.

Charlie’s prayer.

The United States of America is the best country in the world, and we shouldn’t forget it or allow evil forces tear it down! Have a great day.

LOL Had to watch the cat and kitty over and over again. Just darling. I would like to be staying at that house right on the ocean with the rough waves coming in.

    Those bug cams – awesome.
Think what can be done when those bug cams are miniaturized to microscopic size and placed in a vein and, the robot bug being controlled by an MD, can unclog veins and other such applications.
    Fantastic Voyage indeed.

Knew the Chicago post was phony, Number One the grammar is too good and Number Two the bullet holes are too even. I like that bombing suggestion though…

As for that steerable beetle, if we could get a steerable Mexican roach going it should be able to deliver a beer…

Penguin bubbles! Darling cats and dogs! Paintings and photos of beautiful places. Music, and the Babylon Bee. And CDB prayers. Certainly fills my needs.

BTW, that ‘camera on a bug’ thing has been a DARPA project for decades. They’ve been trying to get cameras and/or microphones built in/on to bugs to use as spying devices and as part of it they give large research grants to universities to generate ideas. This is probably one of those grants.

I passed on the penguin video to my grandson, who has a great love for all penguins. He gifted me one of them to keep me company while I heal. Thanks Stella.

Appears that the large medical company that runs the DoD Tricare program, providing health insurance to military members, their families and retirees and their families was working with a concern doing research on using plasma from COVID survivors to treat those with active COVID. It looks as if the DoD company was supposed to ID COVID survivors under Tricare as sorted by their proximity to certain plasma donation sites. Tricare would then send the survivors letters requesting they donate plasma for the project.

Just as what happened at my shop (I have no idea how it happened…) the letter wasn’t intelligently vetted and 600,000 letters went out to Tricare enrollees referring to them as ‘COVID’ survivors. The letters were sent to just about every enrollee referring to them as someone who’d had COVID, causing surprise to some who didn’t even know they had and were treated for COVID.

The company has since apologized and all’s back to normal but I can’t help wondering if those 600K were reported as ‘positives’ and the subsequent correction shown as 600K cured?
