Bentley was abandoned and brought to the Pennsylvania SPCA. The shelter’s staff came to love him, but no one would adopt him. 1,076 days later, he finally found his forever home.

A best friend ever, a retired 28 yr Army Master DS, once told me that God gave us pets to spoil. How right he was.
This Army family was the biggest pet family in the world. I was at the burial of several of their pets in my 8 years in the Ft. Polk area.
Yes, pets are a great gift and they should be spoiled.

Our BC Daisy is at that age where you can speak to her in sentences and she’ll respond, though she responds better if you’re looking directly at her and she knows you’re serious.
Shepherd dogs have been bred for intelligence for generations, unlike Democrats, and can be wickedly intelligent. They’re less like living with a kid than a sneaky teenager.

My cousin had a Shitsu that he had long conversations with. I’d swear that dog understood what he was saying. I believe she was registered as a Republican.

My beagle mix was like that. A friend commented once that it sure seemed as if the dog understood everything I said to her, and she talked back.

We have to spell things to keep ours from going nuts! She’s learned how to spell “out”, “Squirrel” and “ball”!

I had a dog who went crazy when we said the word “walk”. So, we started spelling it and after just a few times she knew what it spelled. LOL

Ours have picked up ‘outside’ cues like Czarina putting on her sweatband or my stealthily slipping into my Crocs, and they start the ‘outside dance’. They’re onto spelling, they just look for the cues – and Daisy’s taught the others what they are.
