Jimmy Hoffa?

Hoffa is in one of the columns in FBI building that was being built at the time of his disappearance.
DB Cooper was flight engineer for the airlines. Also was army paratrooper. Everyone who goes too Jump school, has too exit a jet aircraft. Cooper told the flight crew, to fly at this altitude, and speed. This matches or close the speed for jumping out of C-141……

Mornin’ everyone. Overcast a little here, but I am sure the sun will be coming out soon. Hope the weather elsewhere is nice. I have to go to Walmart to pick up groceries later. I talked to a friend yesterday who said that the pick up is extremely busy and that when she went there the parking spaces were all full and there was a line of cars waiting. I have never seen it like that. Still better than going in.

SNOWING here! Grocery delivery is delayed by at least a full day.

Good morning, aus! Weather here is overcast and we’re heading into a week of rain/snow/sun/clouds…maybe all on the same day as the Great Northwest is wont to do. Winter this year really was wonderful. Heating bills have been less than ever before. So I’m definitely not complaining about this week since it is totally doable.
Even on Santorini Island, Greece it’s raining this week…otherwise I’d invite all Stellars to join in the fun…

…though it looks to me that the hillsides are places to get lost in…
Do you use Walmart’s https://grocery.walmart.com/ ? You get to choose when to have a delivery, though it’s not free. It’s different from the regular walmart.com. My neighbor uses it and pays a yearly delivery fee.
I haven’t yet figured out why I can’t get such a delivery set-up, but the website won’t take my order even though I shop weekly at their regular site. I think it has something to do with my not having a text cell phone because everything is fine until I have to put in a cell #. Apparently I’m one of the few sentient folks in America that does not use text or even have a cell phone. Walmart suggested that I call their customer service to see what can be worked out. Since my neighbor will order perishable items for me, at the moment I don’t want to go through that frustrating customer service route.

Good day to you, WeeWeed! Funny little story…from the time I was a very small girl my father called toilet paper “music roll.” So I thought that was what it was called. We lived out in the country and there was a nearby mom & pop grocery whose proprietors knew all the country folk and provided charge accounts to be paid off when a salary check was issued. So you could go in anytime without cash and get what you needed.
We were out of toilet paper and Mom sent me to the store (I was 6 or 7). Up to the counter I went and told the clerk/owner I needed some music roll and to put it on our charge. She looked puzzled and asked what that was. I explained it was the paper you use in the bathroom. To MY puzzlement, she burst out laughing and called her husband over, telling him to get some off the shelf for me. She wrote it up and back home I went.
Being a very sensitive kid, I was upset that the lady had laughed at me and told Mom about it. Mom said something like, “Now you know it’s called toilet paper.” I came back with, “Well, Dad always calls it music roll!” Hahahaha!

I have been saying I have a suspicion that I might have had this virus back in December because of the way it felt. I had a slight fever one day, was too tired to do anything, and then was out of breath from going up the stairs or even to the kitchen, highly unusual. This morning I was making breakfast when I heard on the TV that a new thing was a loss of smell. I had complained to my friend that it was hard to eat because nothing tasted good. Not ice cream, candy, vegies, soup, or anything for several weeks. Now I really wonder.

Oh tell me about it, I spend – on and off – hours cranking out a meal only to have Czarina lose her sense of smell. Could have served creamed cardboard with a plaster of Paris beurre blanc sauce and she’d not have noticed.

Gov Cuomo is on and I wondered if it is just me being negative or is he just blathering on and on? I don’t see that he is saying anything really useful.

I see him vas the dark horse candidate to replace the indigestible fare being served up. The old Rat mainliners let the young firebrands wheel out their scary luncheon items and the middle-of-the-roaders offer up a Biden entree well past his ‘best served by’ date. They offer up an elitist snob ‘fuhrer lite for our times’ as the most palatable option come convention.
I’ve been waiting a long time for that dark horse, mentioned it to some may-sayers at the CTH early on as they, as well as a lot of other conservatives, were giddy over the prospects of the Rats nominating someone Trump could beat in his sleep. The Rats are corrosive, anti-American and generally garbage but they’re not stooooopid – at least not the old-line ones. I’m thinking the multi-billionaire snot Bloomberg just didn’t poll well with the diners on both coasts in groups most likely to vote so Cuomo, a not-so-rich dictator with most of the sharp edges smoothed off, was their #2 pick…he does well fit the #2 model.
They’re going to have to work with him so that he’s more acceptable to those outside of the I-95 and those along the I-5 strip cities, much of the flyover country can be ignored, but he’s the easiest piece of meat to flavor. I’m watching to see how they cover his ‘more superior than you’ East Coast elitist snob past (OK, and present) so I’m betting they’ll limit his national public appearances without pre-appearance preening as they use focus groups to see how much lipstick, spackle and Bondo they can put on Cuomo to make him acceptable.

And Bernie losses again. Just amazing, the Edu. system has been teaching socialism, and commie light for 45 years, K thru 12, and College level. Now we have a combo of the two systems and the demos run him off the ballot.Hey Bernie, remember when Castro put 20,000 Cubans against the wall, shot them……and for Che, he met a team of “Men” from 7th SFG, then he was no more…..

Newsletter from a local stockyard:
Due to Covid 19
Limiting to buyers and employees only!
Checks will be mailed on Tuesday at 4pm or can be picked up at the counter or call the office and we can bring it to your vehicle.
Start calves 11am
Cows at 2pm
We are going to try and keep our doors open because Americans need to eat. That though means we need sellers and buyers. Last week was the worst head count we’ve had in our 30 years in business and we all are very aware of the up and down years we have had. I know we’re all hurting right now and we’re all worried, but the truth of the matter is we also have bills to pay and we must pay our employees. We didn’t even come close last week to cover the cost of our employees.
After this week’s sale, we will evaluate where we are and will let all of our buyers and sellers know through our newsletter what our plans will be. If you haven’t signed up for our newsletter, you can send us an e-mail or call, newsletters are mailed out on Thursday and e-mailed on Friday.
Hopefully this will end soon and we can all get back to normal.
Thank You for your support!

Further to our discussion about bread, sour dough, yeast etc. If you are running low on yeast, when you are making bread: After rising and before baking take a walnut size piece of the dough, put in a separate bowl and add a cup of flour and a cup of water. Leave on the counter or in the frig (depending how soon you want to bake again) and it will create a sponge for your next batch of bread. At first it won’t be sour, but will be over time. A video about making no-knead bread, and the sponge technique.

If you don’t have a dutch oven, but do have bread pans, you can create a poor man’s dutch oven. Place your dough in one pan, and invert a second pan over the first. Hold it in place with binder/bulldog clips.

Michigan has issued a stay at home order. Liquor stores and marijuana dispensaries are considered essential services. Thank goodness.
LikeLiked by 4 people
Oregon considers marijuana essential as well. And they’ve gone a step further: to protect everyone’s health (pppffffft) they have lifted the regulations governing the point of sale. Now it can be taken out to the customers’ car by employees so customers don’t have to park or come inside.

It has been four weeks since I last stepped outside my home and I needed to restock my pantry so today I headed into town. Stopped in at the Wal-Mart.
A lot of empty shelves, but by golly, the Easter candy aisles were stocked to capacity. It was totally surreal.
