If employees volunteer to do this, that would be nice. I think Whole Foods/Amazon should provide more sick/grievance days for Coronavirus sufferers during this national emergency.

Federal civil service has had the ability to donate sick or personal leave to people who need it but are out for a long time. Only thing that many of us used to measure ‘worthiness’ of the request was ‘how did the person use his/her sick leave to be out of it. It wasn’t unusual for someone who’d used sick leave, almost as fast as they earned it, for personal leave and then have a real need for the leave. Most of us who’d saved our leave for when we really needed it were not sympathetic.
By the time I retired I’d get, each year, 13 working days of sick leave, 26 working days of personal leave, 15 working days of military leave and the usual free days of vacay for local events. That’s a minimum of 54 days off with pay from the roughly 260 days I was supposed to work…I could afford to donate leave.
