UNBELIEVABLE how Leftist propaganda takes hold….
I just heard an Indian TV woman claiming that the point of Mahatma Gandhi was his “lowest possible Carbon Footprint” LOL
Because he lived a simple life (wore just a loin cloth etc)
Trump
The whole Trump “Tribute to Mahatma Gandhi” is being spun as “homage” to climate hoax nonsense.

Gandhi wore cotton clothing and even spun his own cotton threads, he was trying to hurt the British by getting millions of Indians to stop buying British goods or Indian goods produced by British-controlled concerns and return India back to Indian hands.,,see the Salt March.
But hey, history (like fine dining) is too much trouble for most modern Americans, makes them think and that hurts their heads. Best to let the media barf out its junk food news – lacks taste and substance but at least it’s filling.

There are violent protests in North East Delhi. 7 dead, including a cop.
I EXPECT US MEDIA TO BLAME TRUMP!
BUT…. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH TRUMPS VISIT
This is a (Muslim) protest about a recent amendment to Indian Citizenship law CCA, Citizenship Amendment Act
I am no expert, but I see BBC describe it as “India’s new ‘anti-Muslim’ law…”
The Bill amends the Citizenship Act of 1955 to give eligibility for Indian citizenship to illegal migrants who are Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and Christians from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan, and who entered India on or before 31 December 2014. The bill does not mention Muslims.

Yerah, the issue’s been sparking protests and riots for months in that one area. But then again one should never miss a shot at redefining events to one’s needs, especially when so many Americans can’t find India on a map.

The Indian Presidential House (Rashtrapati Bhavan) in New Delhi is one of the world’s largest residential head-of-state houses. The building is 200,000 square feet (19,000 square meters) in size, with four floors and 340 rooms, and sits on 320 acres (130 hectares) in the city center. The architectural style mixes Mughal and European traditions in an intriguing fashion.
The palace was initially built to house the British Viceroy in India and was designed by a British architect. The building was intended to symbolize the permanence of British rule in the East. In 1950, following independence, the first president of India took up residence there and the palace was renamed Rashtrapati Bhavan. (Expedia.com)

What’s neat are the troops on both sides of major Pakistani/Indian border crossings. They both retain that Brit-Indian inspired costumery they shared before the partition and they go all-out at themajor crossings, even with the ceremonies, as sort of a lower leve; competition. It’s impractical but they dress sharp.

Melania attends a “happiness class” at a Delhi school.
She was given a “Tilaka” by children as she arrived.
The term also refers to the Hindu ritual of marking someone’s forehead with a fragrant paste, such as of sandalwood or vermilion, as a welcome and expression of honour when they arrive.

I’m seeing Trump leveraging India against China the same way that Nixon used China to leverage Russia in the 70s. Let’s hope it works out better.
China’s looking at India, as it always has, as its biggest potential antagonist in Asia. It’s spent a shipload of money developing a dual-use commercial-military poring system to surround India as it projects its commercial and military powers into the Indian ocean. China’s also embarking on a dual-use program as it builds hydroelectric dams on the glacial-fed rivers that feed India and SEA. The dams will inefficiently provide electrical power to China as a thin cover for their real purpose, to cut off India’s already problematic access to water.
India’s population is projected to equal, or more likely, exceed that of China’s by midcentury with the benefit of being younger than China’s population on average. Both countries are capable of absorbing massive casualty rates in the event of a war, the only question being how quickly they can recover. So with the three most populous countries on the earth (China, India and the US) locked in an environmental, political and commercial state of almost war it would behoove the US to join with India where by 2050 the US and India will have a combines population of about 2,1 billion against China’s projected 1.3 billion – again with the US and India having, on average, younger populations.
The irritations between China and India have been going on for decades and have been slowly growing hotter. We’ll inherit India’ problems along with India but our technology added to theirs may provide some level of relief. There’s that ‘India’s Moslem issue’ too but where there’s the ability to raise living standards across the board that may prove to be less of a problem, it’s just something else we have to work on.
India’s work ethic (a growing issue here) and rapidly increasing industrialization could prove to be a major boon when combined with US technology, if nothing else by lessening our reliance on China for hi-tech production. We’d have a joint military-industrial complex that would at least rival China’s while checking Chinese expansion as China’s internal problems sort themselves out.
Go Trump!
