Good morning all. Helping my son’s family move this week, and this weekend, so I am staying busy. Another move is in the works for another son. I’m tired of moves! On the upside, boy it sure is nice to be settled. We are just hanging some of the last pictures still, but all cozy.

Stella, I like your suggestion of sending in dog pictures (see Doggity Day) a lot. I think we all love to see people’s pets. We lost a dog last week, so I’ll send one of her soon, I think.

Only my old guy Riley left, our black lab who is soon to be fourteen years old. Now, as each day really seems to catch up to him, I ask myself not only how long I will have him, but what decisions to make. I do not want to wait until one day he is terribly suffering, yet when, what’s best for him? No way to know for sure, so right now, I just love him.

Fourteen years of love and devotion from the best dog ever. How can you account for the richness and gifts our animals bring us? They make life infinitely better.

Around here there are already signs of spring, but not in our little yard. We barely have grass, and it will be up to us to learn how to landscape and add some color. God save the plants!

We all love our pets so much. I was at the bank yesterday to have some documents notarized, and we all talked about our dogs. The bank manager shared photos of his two little guys. So cute!

So sorry about your darling doggie, Menagerie. As with our human loved ones via blood or choice, dogs are family and leave a hole when departing. May Riley live a very long life and simply pass on in his sleep when his time comes.

If you have time with all your activities, today’s homily by Fr. Mitch is wonderful…and as always with him, full of insights about the Scripture readings…it’d be a restful bedtime viewing for one and all…

Mornin’ all. Overcast here today. Weather guessers have declared rain for today, but the only thing that makes me think it might just happen is my teeth on the right side all hurt really badly last night. That happens generally between 12 and 24 hours before a storm. 🙄

The Department of Justice Coverup of its Spying on Me Continues
    By Sharyl Attkisson – January 29, 2020

There has been a lot of water under the bridge since 2013 when CBS News first publicly announced the forensic evidence proving I was victimized by a long-term, remote effort to illegally spy on me and my CBS work through my computers.

This is a classic example of President Trump performing out the democrat’s league.

This was an attempt to do to President Trump what candidate Trump did to Hillary by bringing Bill’s sexual assault victims to one of the debates.

Unfortunately for Schumer even if he succeeded in getting Parnas in it would have had zero impact on the trial and the day.

      Dummy.

Had a lot of things to do in town today so though the highlight was to be meeting Czarina for dinner. It was a nice dinner, good drinks (for an only recently ‘wet’ town with limited ‘by the drink’ permits) but great steaks.

Right in the middle of the dinner I get a text – I open it and…it’s a woman sending a break-up text to her married boyfriend who won’t leave his wife and kids for her. It was phrased in a combination of sidewalk profanity and light ebonics all held together with a heavy thread of anger woven with angst. We didn’t need desert, that made the meal.

I only wish I could have seen her face when I texted her back saying: ” I think you may have texted this to the wrong number”.

I was in a real quandary, I really wanted to share it with Czarina right across the table from me but…what would she think?????? Then it dawned on me, she’d know instantly that I could never have an affair with someone who had such atrocious grammar (punctuation is optional) so we got some good milage outta that ‘un.

Some years ago my son got a text from someone wanting to buy some “ganja” immediately. Let us just say it was the most hilarious several hours I’ve ever spent on Facebook as he periodically posted screencaps.

He offered analysis of the historical origins of the word, then launched into the worldwide supply, one type versus another, their pros and cons. Would be customer just wanted her ganja and was increasingly unamused, but it never occurred to her that she was not conversing with a dealer.

That text could have gone to any one of millions of people, but it got sent to someone who is an epic and persistent smart azz. I always figure God has a sense of humor.

I had a guy calling me about 3 or 4 in the morning. He would leave a message saying he was trying to get ahold of whoever he was calling. Sounded like he had been drinking and was looking for drugs or something to me. Finally, on about the 4th call which had come in about 4:00 AM and he was telling his friend that his car had broken down and he needed a ride home. So, I called his number back and told him he was calling the wrong number. Poor guy. He was so apologetic. He said he had gotten a new phone and evidently had messed up when he put the number in it. I never heard from him again.

Should have done what I’ve done with a few Indian pharmacy callers and said to call you back on a different number – and give them the number of the local police’s/sheriff’s switchboard.

After I read the text we made up great response texts for a while; I don’t know which one he sent back, if any. Then the steaks came and we just periodically laughed while waiting for another rsponse. When we got home he sent it to friends and family for their amusement!

I have no concerns about him. For probably the past 25 years we have had a running joke about why neither of us would leave the other one, largely based on two problems: 1. We would have to divide up the pets, and 2. Neither of us wants to face the dating scene and having to get used to a new person. Oh, yeah, and what kind of weird person would have either of us, anyway.
