I intended to add a sentence up there and forgot, but it was something to the effect that
” this is a 2 pronged problem”.
This is one of the reasons voting was restricted to taxpayers in the early days of the Republic. If you do not pay taxes, you do not care how much the government spends. Then we became more democratic, That being a reference to the Founders created a Constitutional Republic and a Nation of Laws because they viewed a democracy as something akin to a mobocracy.
