AG Bill Barr speaks to the Federalist’s Society about the importance of a strong Executive Branch

Very interesting speech about the history of the Executive Branch, why it was chosen by our founders, and how it makes a difference in the U.S. government, compared to – for example – the monarchial and parliamentary government in Britain, or the Republican system in France. He also explores the essential functions of the Executive, and how there has been an effort to weaken the Executive Branch in recent years.

An excellent content-rich speech!

    Thank you Stella. Best speech I have heard in a long time.

    For those not inclined to listen or read this great speech, here is a cliff notes version;

    “I’ll see your coup attempt and pound it into the ground with the Constitution.” __W Barr

    A diplomatic shredding of Obama, the Coup Crew and their minions.

    Absolutely a call to patriots to protect The Republic from the clear and present danger that is the Democrat Party.

    “Indeed, measures undertaken by (the Trump) Administration seem a bit tame when compared to some of the unprecedented steps taken by the Obama Administration’s aggressive exercises of Executive power – such as, under its DACA program, refusing to enforce broad swathes of immigration law.The fact of the matter is that, in waging a scorched earth, no-holds-barred war of “Resistance” against this Administration, it is the Left that is engaged in the systematic shredding of norms and the undermining of the rule of law.”__W Barr

    A prime example of this is the Senate’s unprecedented abuse of the advice-and-consent process.  The Senate is free to exercise that power to reject unqualified nominees, but that power was never intended to allow the Senate to systematically oppose and draw out the approval process for every appointee so as to prevent the President from building a functional government.

    Yet that is precisely what the Senate minority has done from his very first days in office.  As of September of this year, the Senate had been forced to invoke cloture on 236 Trump nominees — each of those representing its own massive consumption of legislative time meant only to delay an inevitable confirmation.   How many times was cloture invoked on nominees during President Obama’s first term?  17 times.  The Second President Bush’s first term?  Four times.  It is reasonable to wonder whether a future President will actually be able to form a functioning administration if his or her party does not hold the Senate. __W Barr

    And the heart of Barr’s speech;

    The rats that this speech was aimed at heard it loud and clear.

    Are the democrats calling for Barr’s resignation yet?

      They’re screaming impeachment of Barr. But they’ve been screaming that since right after he was sworn in February 2019, just amped up the volume now. And Nervous Nancy is claiming Barr lied.

      These rabid jackals just won’t stop until/unless they are brought up short and where laws applied charged with their seditious treasonous acts.

      Love the way you broke it down. 👍🏽👍🏽😁

        Thanks Tiger, I’m sure the democrats will be screaming shrilly into the wind.

        Nancy says Barr lied? 🙄.

        Nice part is that the democrats are so lost they have no idea how to fight back, they grew complacent and thought that they were untouchable.

        Time to start investing in gallows material.

    She was referencing Congress when she said it, not the speech. Sorry I confused it. But she confuses the daylights out of me. 😳

    Yes, demons are more than lost sadly, they are lockstep insane foaming at the mouth. 😱

    “Time to start investing in gallows material.”

    Investments in our future is goooooood! 👍🏽👍🏽😄

    Have a great weekend 😎
