    We don’t get no photogenic dogs, just ones that figured out this is where they want to stay.

    Here I thought I had nothing much to contribute on Doggity Day and then about 3 AM I awakened to the two old dogs in the room reenacting the campfire scene from Blazing Saddles. Whoever said that border collies weren’t scent dogs?

    Election results are in – the black/Democrat supervisor for our district was reelected. Then again, if you look at our district (our property’s right on the district border) and its painfully and obviously gerrymandered borders (they didn’t even try to hide it) there’s no surprise. You can see it was created specifically so that some 13% of the residents scattered throughout the countryside, many on small homesteads. It’s 25ish miles long, almost as long as the county, and ‘dumbells’ the two largest cities in the county with a thin streak of inclusiveness between them.

    In all it’s of little concern, the rare times I point out an issue to our supervisor it gets resolved. Even had the two challengers have combined their votes they’d still have been nearly 200 short to win so it’s back to business as normal, no big deal. Again, if you look at the demographics of the district it’s the Republicans who have the money so we’re not about to be trussed up and BBQ’d any time soon.
