Good morning, Nyet! The white plate special and a half dozen pecan tarts, please! I’ll be hanging out where the pecans grow the most in the U.S. …Georgia…Albany, to be exact…even though the area is apparently still trying to recover from Hurricane Michael in October 2018. I’ll visit the Ray Charles Plaza…

The only major tree nut that grows naturally in North America, the pecan is considered one of the most valuable North American nut species. Pecans are always my favorite. They grow here, but are a pain to crack, thus the need for a rock. I just buy mine shelled!

In Gulfport, pre-Camille, we had groves and groves of “papershell” pecan trees. I don’t know if that was a specific strain of pecan or just a generic term to describe a thin-shelled version. But they were much easier to shell; just put two in your hand and squeeze and the shells came right off. The hurricane wiped out many acres of pecan groves, which sent the price of pecans sky high for the next 2 decades (Camille was in 1969). My mother loved to add pecans to many recipes (they’re especially good chopped in tuna salad) and every fall she bought a giant burlap sack full from a local grower. We then spent weeks shelling pecans and freezing them.

Supporters of President Donald Trump on Monday debuted new t-shirts at a campaign rally in Kentucky.
The white shirts had the phrase “Read the Transcript” printed on them in red text, referring to the transcript of his phone call with Ukranian President Volodymyr Zelensky, where he asked about investigating Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden’s corruption in Ukraine.
“You see what has happened with the Democrats, they have gone crazy,” Trump said during his rally.
I’m still laughing about this….and it’s an official limited edition campaign t-shirt!

We have cameras outside of his cell mysteriously malfunctioning.
We have him mysteriously coming off of suicide watch and his guards going off for a gnosh conveniently at the same time.
We have stories outy on local NY media about a white van and occupants dressed in black military-style clothing in the cell area, stories released before the official concocted excuses.
We have an ex-NYPD cop in the tier with Epstein, a cop being looked at for four murders and facing the uneasy prospects of being an ex-cop in prison – hint is that he may have offed Epstein for ‘considerations’.
We have the ex-chief medical examiner for NYC saying that he’s seen many jailhouse hangings and the only times he’s seen the marks that Epstein had was in manual strangulations.
The FBI’s on it now and I’m expecting they’ll hand Schiff a report soon showing that there is possible Trump/Ukrainian/Russian involvement that needs to be further investigations done.

Good morning, WeeWeed! There are times I wish God worked in present day as he did during ancient times and physically wrote on the walls for people like Adam Schiff and his minions to see. In all actuality, though, He HAS written on the wall already, because Scripture is for all time. This passage is a lesson for those who lie, cheat and try to steal from another what is rightfully his. They will pay for their crimes and sins, either in this life or the next.
Remember “MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN”, Adam and Nancy and Chuck and Jerry and the other thieves…Daniel 5:26 – “Here is what these words mean: MENE: God has numbered the days of your reign and brought it to an end; 27 TEKEL: You have been weighed on the scales and found defective; 28 PERES: Your kingdom has been divided and handed over to the Medes and Persians.”
Btw, though the Old Testament is written in Hebrew, this passage has words of Aramaic/Chaldee, a language made up of both Hebrew and the Babylonian languages. “Upharsin”, “Parsin”, and “Peres” are merely different tenses of the root word.

As for Jeffrey Epstein, a man of many gifts which he ill-used, he now knows the great mystery and why he was weighed in the balance and found wanting. Likely he was a psychopath; but if not, it would be interesting to discover just how he became the pathetic and disgusting person he did. It’d be wonderful if his life because a cautionary tale, but it won’t.

It’s so strange that after proofreading everything before I post, there are still typos. The last sentence, for instance (It’d be wonderful if his life “because”!!! a cautionary tale…), I meant “became” and read it as “became” when I checked it. The mind knows what was meant and so it reads the correct word.
The first office job I had in Los Angeles was in the real estate acquisition department of an oil company. This was way before computers or spellcheckers, and proofreading every single legal contract/deed entry was a total necessity since it had to be perfect. This would entail two people doing the proofreading.
Myself and another support staffer would sit for hours reading and checking against a handwritten copy or a cut/paste page. You absolutely did NOT want to find a mistake because that would mean you had to type the whole page over again. In those days you could not erase or later “white out” anything or the governmental Recorder of Deeds would not accept it. No xeroxing either when they first came into office use….just an original typewritten copy and four carbons done on an IBM electric typewriter…each page done flawlessly.
In the grand scheme of things, making typos is pretty well insignificant when you’re merely putting some thoughts online. So there are misspellings, grammatical mistakes and those dumb mind-game typos to remind us that…

Your proofreading story reminded me of my first secretarial job, working for a patent law firm in Chicago. We paired up to read each patent application before it was sent to DC, and then did the same with the printed patent when it was sent from DC. I remember the tissue carbon copies too – at least four, each done on a different color. We had correction tapes in matching colors to correct any errors.

White, yellow, pink, green. One time my boss came into my office carrying a letter I’d just typed for his signature. I thought, oh, man, did I make a mistake? Instead he said he just wanted to compliment me on not giving him letters which had corrections, and that he even held the letter up to the light to see if there were any. LOL!
Honestly, I can’t recall half the time what I had for dinner the night before and yet these silly remembrances keep popping up.

I, one of my sons and now a grandson have reddish hair until about 12 when it shades out to a washed out brown. My youngest son and I were also born with green eyes that turned blue in our 30s. Must’ve been some hellacious Viking parties going on in our Irish past.
