Morning Stella! Morning everyone! Have a happy Wednesday!

Good morning sand, and happy Wednesday to you. I am loving the pictures of the bounty from the garden, and wishing I had more time to enjoy it and prepare some. Soon, busy or not, I am going to my local produce stand out beside the road and getting corn, okra, squash, and tomatoes. I’ll cook a pot of pinto beans and a big ole pan of cornbread and we will have a true feast. Won’t be able to eat until late the next day, but, oh, it’ll be worth it. I still have some of Aunt Ruby’s squash relish stashed to go with it.

As close as our family ever gets to being vegetarians. Except for the hamhocks or bacon in the beans, we skip meat and save all the room for those awesome summer fresh vegetables.

I am going to dehydrate cherry tomatoes this morning to be used as “tomato candy” later this year. My jalapenos are starting to turn red. I think they will be good pickled.

We had some ferocious storms last night. Watched a tree fall right through the doors, fortunately just sideways at the edge of the woods and not toward the house.

As I was driving home the front/rains hit here. I watched the car thermometer go from 102 to 75 degrees in less than 5 minutes as the rain poured down. It was welcome.

One night the 96-year-old draws a bath.
She puts her foot in and pauses.
She yells to the other sisters, ‘Was I getting in or out of the bath?’
The 94-year-old yells back, ‘I don’t know.. I’ll come up and see.’
She starts up the stairs and pauses ‘Was I going up the stairs or down?
The 92-year-old is sitting at the kitchen table having tea listening
to her sisters, she shakes her head and says, ‘I sure hope I never get that forgetful, knock on wood…’
She then yells, ‘I’ll come up and help both of you as soon as I see who’s at the door!”.
