    Sitting here watching a shark program on TV while I’m waiting for some laundry to finish, Usually when he’s not sitting on my lap the black & white cat’s sitting on the bass speaker in front of the flat screen TV at screen level and facing me. Tonite, for some reason, he decided to sit facing the TV and is fascinated and fixated at all of these swirling sharks. Grandiose dreams, probably.

    Just something i looked up out of curiosity but as some 70-thousand people died of drug overdoses last year, most thru Mexican heroin, I thought I’d see what the cable ratings were for ’60 Days In: Narcoland’. It’s a series done to show how deeply and widely the Mexican cartels have situated themselves in the US from highly urban to highly rural areas.

    On July 30th it placed 21st in the cable ratings, sort of understandably behind the Democratic debates, but behind two ‘shark week’ shows on different channels, Housewives of Beverly Hills, WWE Smackdown and Black Ink Crew Chicago. Looks like we don’t take the drug problem that seriously after all.

      I know other people have other reasons for not watching, lack of interest, etc. I don’t watch shows about drugs because they always make me angry. Angry at the people who sell them, angry at the people who use them, angry at the people who say I need to do something about them, angry at the people who say I need to do something to help someone on drugs. I don’t do drugs, don’t want anything to do with them, try to discourage friends who even use too many prescription pharmaceuticals, and have total disdain for those who think it is my problem.

      The thing smoking and drugs have in common is that the person using them has to make the decision to quit. There was nothing I could do or say to make my ex-husband stop smoking. He tried over and over. He finally quit when my father was diagnosed with lung cancer caused by smoking after he had quit 40 years ago.

        Thing is, it should make you angry. It should make you angry that drugs are as available as they are after a 50 year ‘war’ on them, they’re more available and cheaper.

        It should make you angry that generation of politicians have been elected promising to ‘attack the scourge of illegal drugs and stem their flow’, yet they are as available and cheap as they are.

        It should make you angry that this type of ‘reality program’ is in its multiple life, having been first aired years ago.

        You see where I’m going here, nothing gets done until enough people get mad enough to set fire to politicians’ feet. The Mexican cartels are and have been here and are deeply rooted. /hink how mad you’ll be when major cities here become as major cities in Mexico are – killing fields owned and operated by the cartels.

      This pathetic excuse of a man is trying to say he didn’t target anyone. Releasing names and businesses of political donors, he says, is done all the time.

      Yes, that’s true. For many years now names of donors could be looked up online. Out of curiosity I did it myself in the early 2000s, but it was NEVER done with the intention of contacting or asking anyone else to contact donors with harassing phone calls nor did I encourage the boycott of businesses.

      Harassment was definitely Castro’s intent, no matter how much he wishes to portray his action as commonplace and without malice. With the harassment of donors already underway, leftists took his list release as a further call to action.
